Hi Guys & Gals

of course there are supps which will help.
a good creatine is always worth trying, some peoplehave good rsults with it, some dont see much at all, but tis always worth a try. the monhoydrate really didnt do much for me, but i can recommend a micronised form, like kre alkyln. its a little more expensive, but worth it.
also a good bcaa suppadded to your p/w shake is also always a good bet.

Hi Westie

Thanks for the info been looking into creatine it's a big subject! Will look at adding bcaa
to my shake too.

My training schedule is pretty basic....

Run a mile to gym then start with doing 30-40 mins cardio, rowing, cross trainer etc

Then do a mixture of free weights and machines in sets of 3

Read somewher last year about doing 1st set lightish with 12-14 reps

2nd set mid weight 8-10 reps

3rd set heavy 4-6 reps

Trying this for the moment.

Keep working!

Brad

really, you do all that cardio before lifting, that must be taxing on the system, I do my cardio separate from my lifting if not i am falling over

yeah mate, i agree with jydynasty. any cardio you do before you workout will be taking away from your workout, which should be your main focus if you are trying to build muscle.
you should have a split worked out, you should know exactly what you are going to do when you get to the gym. obviously this doesnt mean do the same workout every single time, you need to change it every few months or so to keep your muscles keen, but just "a mixture of free weights and machines" wont cut it.

Hi Guys

Thanks for your thoughts...good point! Must admit I do get a bit jaded before i start my weights. I do change my workout every few weeks or it becomes tedious and as you say muscles get used to it.

Will make a point of just running to the gym then do the weights and leave the cardio to another day.

Have a brill wkend...come on England!

i wouldnt even run to the gym mate. as i said before, it will take away from from your workout, which shuld be your primary focus.
are you trying to cut some bf? or just doing the cardio for for health reasons? either way, it makes a lot more sense to save it for after your workout. or, if you are trying to cut bf, maybe do it in the am on an empty stomach to force your body to burn fat as fuel.
if you need any help, just say. we will sort you out a killer training split.

Hi Westie

I'm trying to get rid of some bf which is why I have done fair bit of cardio work. Plus I've always run, was at school in Essex and used to run for mid-essex in the dim and distant past I tend to go to the gym late pm before dinner so have a pretty empty stomach. Working to build the shoulder muscles up and tighten gthe core stomach muscles mainly at the mo.

Good win at the wkend!
