I don't know if it's so much luck as they've got a tougher schedule this year, and people have caught on to what they're doing offensively.

Defensively, they should have upgraded personnel, but the mistakes started with the drafting of Larry Johnson as insurance for Priest, and it's gone downhill from there.

When the only playmakers you have are Priest and Tony Gonzalez, you've got problems. Johnnie Morton strikes me as a "never has, never will" type of player, much like Derrick Alexander.

And, the Chiefs don't have the fluke performance of Dante Hall to boost the team this year either.

I really thought this was going to be a good year for the Chiefs (similar offensive performance, marginally improved defense) but it just has not come together.
