Help!!!

Whats up, my name is tyler and i need some help, i want to get big and can't. i'm 6'5" and about 190lbs which is not big.... i've read up on things in magazines and books, and just can't seem to put any muscle mass on. i've taken some steroids for a short period of time and some supplements to go along with it. So i need some advice on the correct things to take or do,i have a very fast metabolism and a low testostorone level! So please any help will be taken! Thanks!!

I've never been tested, not really sure what kinda test i should take???. I'm 22... I've taken Test 250 and Deca-Durabolin - nandrolone decanoate - .. and just protein shakes and vitamins and things... but never really been put on a cycle plan.. i'm not that experienced in lifting but i have friends that are big gym freaks and one thats going to be on ufc ultimate fighter and they try to give me pointers or help, and i played college baseball, but i don't have just great experience! I guess i'm not 100% possitive about my test level, just because my friends said that because i can't grow any facial hair or things like that, so i've always gone off of that.....

I suggest you stay natural for awhile. This wasn't the advice you were hoping for I am sure. At your age you should be swimming in natural testosterone. Why do you feel your test levels are low? Is it because of the poor gains naturally?

It probably wasn't the best idea to go on that test/deca cycle. You need to get your lifting routine in order and diet. Even with steroids a crappy diet and/or poor training will yield very poor results. We would be more than happy to help you with some of that. I think your best bet would also be to get with a personal trainer, preferably one with experience with bodybuilders and that has some good size him/herself, to work on your routine and lifting technique.
 
Yes, i'm looking for whatever advice that i may get, wether its stuff I don't want to hear or whatever, i'm really dedicated to this, and am looking for a someone to help. I have been lifting natural for about 2 months now, about everyday, i'm not really on a good diet or planned diet. I've just been taking protein shakes and eating just meat trying to gain weight.

Since you say you have a very fast metabolism you need calories and at your height and current weight I mean ALOT. You should be eating every 2 hours and getting 40-50g of protein every meal. Shakes are ok but limit them to your pre and post workout meals. You should be able to get 7 or 8 meals in everyday. I would concentrate on veggies and whole wheat carbs for your fiber and energy. Shoot for a cup of each for every meal at least. I wouldnt worry too much about lean portions for meat. We need to you get some calories. So those extra 9 calories per fat gram will help. Snack on natural peanut butter and nuts.

What is your current lifting schedule? What body parts? Sets? Reps? Exercises?

Are you doing any cardio? Unless you really need the conditioning for sports/mma I would drop it as it is only fueling your metabolism.

That isn't necessarily an indicator of test levels. Could be genetic/heredity. I would go see a doctor if you truly believe that.
 
Oh i eat alot lol, trying to gain weight, but probabley not the things i need to.. i just eat whatever is thrown to me... but i eat about that much! Ok well how much meat should i eat a day, and what kinds?

I lift from 6-9 on monday, tuesday, thursday, friday, and saturday! and i'll do arms on monday, back and shoulders on tuesday, chest and stomach on thursday, legs on friday, and saturday what i feel i didn't work on that great i'll lift....

no i don't much cardio, i'll run on the tread mill when i get there for about 15 to min to get my blood flowing and things before i lift, i heard it helps...

I lift from 6-9 too long!!! you should be done in 45-60mins tops. on monday, tuesday, thursday, friday, and saturday! and i'll do arms on monday, back and shoulders on tuesday, chest and stomach on thursday, legs on friday, and saturday what i feel i didn't work on that great i'll lift.... i would switch shoulders to a different day or all by themselves. i like to use chest/biceps, back/triceps, shoulders/forearms, legs split but that is just me.

i didnt have a problem with the test you took per se it was the deca along with it & the fact that you didnt have your diet and training in order.

Do you know what p/c/t is?

No, i don't know what p/c/t is...it is short for post cycle therapy - a technique used by steroid users to "jumpstart" their natural testosterone production back up as taking steroids suppresses this. one main reason to do this other than the obvious is when you stop taking steroids you want to keep your gains which wont happen if you are still suppressed.

well when i first started i was just on test and then after my second cycle i added the deca. uh... at first i started at 1/2 a cc, since i wasn't use to it, and i gradually went up to 1 1/2 every 4-6 days.. not good to do i'm sure, but i don't know.. and i did it for about 4-5 months maybe.

so what do i do for the p.c.t?

i gained about 20 lbs, i was at 175 before i started. and in about 3 months i was up to, 200-205lbs. But then i started building houses and when the summer came, i started losing it all because of sweat, and i laid of the steroids. we order some kind of pill that is suppose to hold your body sweat in or something, but it never came in. and then the steroid supply got low and so i never got back on them.

i guess a personal question, that you don't have to answer.. are you a believer in steroids? because i'm trying to figure if thats the way to go or not. i've lifted with and without them and i liked the outcome with, but it wasn't alot, and wasn't as much as i wanted, but i understand it takes time, and dedication!

Well from your stand point, what kind of cycle should i be on and what should i take?

6 high protein meals a day.
taking too long in the gym 1 hour is plenty.
5-10mins before hand and 20mins after once or twice a week is enough when trying to gain weight
 
ok i try to eat as much as i can.. but i am going to start eating the right things.
yeah i'm always drained after i lift everyday. yeah i alwasy do about 15 min, because it makes me feel better and i can get my mind right when i do that!

Bro, you need to read! You are asking some very basic quesions that you can figure out on your own by reading. You have a plat membership so no excuses.

Take some time to educate yourself (like everyone else on here had to do)... and then come back and ask questions.
 
Like whats been said.... Id train natty, get your diet down and especially your routine down... Id do a 5 x 5 routine and get in and out of the gym like 8 and 20 said in about an hour... Just because people say they stay in the gym for 3 hours doesnt mean you are going to get big... There is no magic air or aura in the gym that if you just stay there for long periods of time, it will allow you to get big... Spending 3 hours tells me you are lifting too slow... Work hard, train hard, eat smart, listen to the good bros on here and I GUARANTEE you will see results...

the key ingredients:

not deca or test... but patience, dedication and knowledge
 
Oh yea, i always know and say, that if you don't do the right things no matter what you take or do, its just wasted time! I am a believer in them, just not what is the best type to take and how much and how often.

Practiced all the time, but it wasn't a muscle gaining type of train, it was more condition and strength...

i have gain alot of weight but its not really muscle, over the past 6 months of just naturaly working out...
 
i do read, i've read all kinds of articles and books, but its different when you actually talk to someone than just read some book you buy at the local vitamin store or muscle fitness mag. so i just wanted some first hand experience and advice sorry!

i wouldn't say i take to long, i just take my time and try not to rush myself, so i can get the full affect... and do alot of reps and sets... and i work at it alot, the main thing i'm trying to get is what kind of diet and how to lift better....

Its getting sick the amount of people I see saying this. Were are they getting this crap from?
 
Every time someone says they can't gain weight it's because they don't eat enough. Every time. It's always the same shit -- "No matter how much I eat I can't gain weight." Bullshit. Then they say ; "Well, it isn't easy" or, "I don't eat the right things" or "I eat what's given to me." Shut the fuck up and eat. No time? BIG BLAST is the most nutrient dense thing you can have and it takes one minute to make. On the run? Bring a bag of nuts with you. Only McDonolds is available? Eat McDonalds. Then make your next meal clean.

This is all whining "I really don't want to do anything somebody help me" bullshit.

3 hours is definitely too long. You say that you take your time to get the full affect. What you are really saying is you wait way to long between sets and don't get a good pump or that you do way to light weight for way too many sets.

When I am doing 2 muscles a day I am in and out in 45 min tops and I am SORE AS HELL for days after. If I am doing one muscle a day I'm in and out in 25 minutes and also sore as hell for days.

You don't need tons of sets to get big. Think about it, anything you can do a ton of isn't helping that much. You may need to up your weight and lower your sets. Make sure you do all compound exercises. They will work multiple muscles at a time and will give you the best gains. Like someone else said in this thread a good place to start is the 5x5 routine. About not growing facial hair is a not necessarily a sign of low test levels? From doctors.
 
Nelson- trust me i eat.. and eat and eat... but when you have a high motabolism it burns it out fast 3-4 times a day, so please tell me how do i keep it in, instead of 30 min after i eat it, i pass it out! I asked for advice not to be put down, or some sterotype of people that say they eat all the time.

muscle junkie-yeah 3 sets of 10 reps and rest and then do it agian and then keep on and then move to the next session. i do probly waste some time in there but i lift 80% of the time i'm there... so really and hour a day?
 
hes not saying lift for an hour and then be like ok time to go... hes saying your complete full workout shouldnt take much longer than an hour... so if you find yourself going way over that.... either you are taking too long in between sets... or you need to reevaluate your routine.... Like I said earlier... look into a 5 x 5 routine

Absolutely. I guarantee you that if you start doing the right exercises (like I said check out 5x5) you will be in and out in less than an hour and you will be sore.

And btw I am a hard gainer as well. For years I was convinced I couldn't put on weight. Right now I eat 8 clean meals a day, total of about 4000 cal, and I work out 3 days a week for 45 minutes and I am putting on weight. Just so you know it's not impossible.
 
yeah i know its not impossivble, just looking for advice on stuff to look into, books, supplements, etc. cause me i don't really know how to do the proper "diet", what i've been trying to do, is eat whatever i can get my hands on, and gain the weight and turn it into muscle... now is that wrong, should i been on a fixed diet?

right thats what i'm saying, my i shouldn't be in there 2 1/2-3 hours, it should take me 45-60 or a little more to complete my workout?

Google it or go in the weight-lifting forum here and look around at others routines.
 
How do i find this stuff, and what do you recomend i should start off with? because you hear how all this stuff works but the stuff i've taken can't tell a difference or any gain..
 
oh yeah i'm doing this for me, not for summe body, for girls, or for people to look at me or get attention, i'm doing it for me and how i want to feel!
 
food is what you need
if you are eating and burning it off.
then you are not eating enough.

Buy 10lbs of chicken breast,3lbs of ground beef, can of oatmeal,2 gallons of milk,a few containers of cottage cheese,8 sweet potatoes
2 dozen eggs,along with protien powder
If you are eating correct should not last you more then 3 days.
That should give you a rough idea of what you need to be consuming.

Food is the most exp part of bodybuilding.No one said it was going to be cheap
I spend 100$ a week eazy on the core of my diet . I buy in bulk and prepare it my self
many bigger guys spend 200$+ a week

Effort and intensity.

When in the gym you have to give it 100% if not then dont bother even going.

No talking ,no wasting time, no bullshitting.
If you have friends just be polite and break off the conversation and tell um you have another set.
Eventually they will get the point.

If you need to change the time of the day you work out maybe mornings to avoid the evening rush
 
i do appreciate it... yeah i have about 3 bowel movements a day... i mean i eat till i about puke and can't move and then about 30 min after that i do it again...


i give a 100% when i lift... i just do that type set because thats what i've always done and have been taught... should i do more weight to gain muscle or less weight more reps? or does that not matter..

Like i'm dedicated to this and i just want any advice i can get to HELP. i'm not tryin to find the easy way out or cheat... i just want to do it, but go the right way, eat, and take the right things, ya know?

i'm very serious, i'm just looking for advice. and helpful pointers.....

well is some what a reason that people can't grow hair on there face or chest or anything, is because there testostirone level is low.... but in some cases its because of other things..

I am also 6'5" and was a college basketball player. so i know where you are coming from... as far as not being able to put on weight, there are some thing s you have to consider. If you look at yourself in the mirror every day you do not notice you progress, ESPECIALLY if you are tall. If you gain 10lbs at 6'5" it doesn't add much to your appearance. If you gain 10 lbs and are 5'8" then it is definitely noticeable. keep track of all you stats weekly. EAT A SHITLOAD OF FOOD. no joke. it took me a LONG time to get from 215lbs after collegew to 260lbs, now@ 30 yrs old. EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT... and also one thing to learn.. lift harder than you currently think you can. I know people that tell me they are lifters and they cant grow, then i go and workout with them and realize why. Whatever you think you can do, you are right. So start thinking bigger. SEE IT, BELIEVE IT, AND NEVER STOP WORKING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. At 22 you have a lot of gfrowing left to do. You should be in the gym a lot if you want to get big, stay off the juice at your age. There is no need for it yet.

yeah, it is defenitely not noticable! yea i'm going to just keep eating and keep eating... lol i'll be broke by the time i get done ha! I am going to hit the gym harder now!

i REALLY appreciate the helpful advice and hints and pointers ya'll have given me... i just got to find a good diet plan and lift hard and be dedicated..
