Help with sit-up endurance

I need to get 35 strict military style sit-ups by the 18th for a police test and I can only do about 20 or 21 and fatigue sets in,.....but what I don't understand is how I can do well over 40 sit-ups with my arms crossed over my chest and the difference in hand location affects my abdominal stamina so MUCH!! I need some REAL GOOD advice ...... please help. :worried:

What gymgirl said. They really easy to build up to. You can hit 100 sooner than you think.

Just do them every day when you wake up. Do X on day one, X+5 on day 2, day 3 off, day four X+15, etc.

Also, if you have any dedication do your job whatsoever you will get an easier job of this by cutting your alcohol consumption to zero and cutting the junk food. Losing weight makes this easier.
