Help with new computer...

Im going through the dell computers and am looking to get one of the new 3 ghz 800mhz front side bus machines.. Im wondering if I should get the 200GB Ultra ATA/100 hard drive or should I get the 240G RAID 0 hard drive (290 bucks more) Is the performance gain worth the extra cash??? Also..what is the difference between the 128MB DDR ATI RADEON 9800 video card and the 128MB DDR ATI RADEON PRO 9800 video card... (besides 180 bucks)

What do you need the performace for? Playing games or Video editing? The Raid 0 will allow for faster save / replay of large files (among other things). But if one of those drives goes down on the Raid, you lose EVERYTHING. There is no cyclic redundancy in a Raid 0. If you want data integrity in case of a lost drive, you have to do something other than Raid 0.

If you're gonna get top of the line parts, why not save some money and build it yourself?

He' got a good point. It's what I do. If you have the capability, you can order most of your stuff from New Egg and know what you are getting for your money.

??????? The difference between the 9800 and the 9800 pro video card ?????

And yes.. I could go through the hassle of building my own..but I don't want to..and I have always had a dell and have always been happy with it...

I have looked at Newegg and other sites... but who knows... I may end up building it myself... and I will most likely go with the 200 gig drive..
