Help me make up my mind!!

Okay... heres where I am. I'm 21, and my roommate and I just got kicked out of our apartment. I start school Tuesday, my sophmore year. For the past two weeks I have been living with me dad and stepmother. They live pretty close to school, about 20 minutes. I'm supposed to move into a dorm room on Saturday, a double room in a pretty nice building. Only thing is I don't know who my roomie will be. I lucked out my freshman year and my roomie wound up being my best friend. But I just left an apartment, where I had my own room, my own space, all that good stuff. I can't imagine sharing a room with someone once again!!

Now I can stay with my dad and stay in the furnished basement, and have my own bathroom and have things pretty private. My gym is a few minutes away, and I won't have to worry about cooking all the time. Only bad thing is I don't get along with my stepmom. Shes not a fan of girls and doesn't like that I get attention from my father. She has gone through my things, moves my stuff around down here when I'm at work, and is constantly making smartass comments. I would have to be here and deal with that for 6 months!!

So there are good things and bad things about both!!I can't make up my freakin mind!! Which would you do??

Personally I would stay with your family until you can complete school. It seems that they are willing to support the fact that you need a place to live, plus you are a college student. This will also keep you out of trouble. Living with your family will also cut the costs of your overall bill. Who knows, you and your step mother may be able to iron things out. In the meantime focus on your studies and stay out of trouble. Before you know it, it will be your senior year and you will be pondering on which career to pursue. I hope everything goes well for you.

Destroy your stepmom's spinal cord with a wooden bat.

Quadriplegics tend not to cause much trouble.

Hang her from a balcony if she even thinks about moving herself around on a motorized scooter using her chin.

I wouldnt know really,I couldnt handle someone going through my shit so I would probably take the chance with the roomie, try to arrange a meeting between you two before you move in

why did ya move out of the apartment you had?

And if you had to dorm...why couldn't you get a single?

We got kicked out... long story...

And I had applied for a single, but wasn't able to get one. I got a double. If they do happen to offer me a single though, I'll take it in a heartbeat. As long as I can live in a single next year, thats all that matters!!

Did you even read her post?
Look at the first sentence.

DO NOT STAY HOME!!!!!

i repeat: DO NOT STAY HOME.

one of the biggest parts of being in college is living on your own, and learning how to deal with things in an independant manner. i know people who live near the school so they just live with their parents, and they are missing out on a HUGE part of the college experience. they have less friends, socialize less, and just seem to be more boring. be daring, live in a dorm, even though you'll be living with a stranger, it will be a learning experience, and in the end you will enjoy it much more than living at home.

STAY AT HOME..............MAKE IT LUCID THAT SHE IS NOT TO TOUCH YOUR SHIT. DO NOT MOVE ANYTHING OF YOURS. DO NOT EVEN GO IN THE BASEMENT WHEN YOU ARENT THERE. AND IF SHE KEEPS UP HER SMARTASS COMMENTS........APPLY A GUILLOTINE CHOKEHOLD UNTIL HER EYES START TO GET BLOOD SPOTS IN THEM. IF YOU HOLD IT ANY LONGER THAN THAT, YOU MAY CAUSE BRAIN DAMAGE OR EVEN DEATH SO BE CAREFUL.

I would take the dorm room.

Enjoy college life when you have the chance, it's far from perfect, but it's a roller coster experience. I loved every wacky poor minute of it. :)

(My mother wasa snoop too - I bailed at 17 andneverregretted it. She would make photocopies of my personal mail and tape record my phone conversations when ever possible.)
