Good starting point -if you are new to lifting & dieting (fueling for your goals, e.g. eating to grow), then any sort of concentrated approach should start to show results pretty quickly. See how you respond to the diet as far as "calories burned" -- i.e. see if you do gain bodyfat along w/ size, then you can adjust up your training, adjust down your diet or adjust what makes up your diet (e.g. proteins / fats / carbs) and probably never hurts to include cardio conditioning just as a good core component of your training.
