has anyone heard of injectable vitamin c or injectable l-carnitine? ive heard it could get u super shredded.

There's a recent article on t-nation where Poliquin (at least I think it was him) wrote about how he lost huge amounts of bodyfat in a few days after being on a vitamin C IV drip. Very few doctors do this... it basically helps wounds/injuries recover waaaay more quickly.

Now injecting it... that's another story. Can you even find injectable vitamin C?

why can't u just eat it? it's absorbed well.

Because significant amounts of vitamin C have to be taken in to have an effect on metabolism and injury-healing. Poliquin was apparently taking in something like a 150g a day, and anything above 6g a day would probably cause gastric distress.

damn 150g? Is that healthy? doesn't it cause some vitamin imbalance? Post up the poliquin article. I wanna see.

Vitamin C is water-soluble, so it shouldn't cause any damage like high levels of vitamin D or A would. Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in fat for long periods of time, whereas water-soluble vitamins are easily eliminated by the body.

"Well, I got bit in the ass by a brown recluse spider and I got mono-like symptoms, and I never felt so bad in my life. I talked to one of my reps, and she referred me to a doctor in Denver and I went to see this guy who treated me with Vitamin C. First they confirmed that it was a brown recluse spider bite, and I was in danger, basically, of losing my butt cheek.

I got treated with the Vitamin C and put in a hyperbaric chamber, and within 36 hours I was asymptomatic. I still had a lump of venom in there, and I kept doing the treatments and I got rid of the venom and all the effects.

When you get bit by a brown recluse, you get necrotic fasciaitis, so people who get bit in the nose can lose their nose, people who get bit in the arm can lose their arm, etc, so by doing the super-high dose of Vitamin C—I was getting 180 grams twice a day–by IV, I was able to save my tissue.

However, interestingly, the guy told me that he had to monitor my blood sugar every 20 minutes. He said that such a high dose of Vitamin C has a considerable glycemic response, so I actually had to drink a gallon of grape juice while getting this Vitamin C treatment because my blood sugar levels were just falling,

However, after doing the Vitamin C, and despite ingesting so many carbs, I was actually leaner when I left the clinic!

Then I went on-line and found the research that intravenous Vitamin C changes insulin sensitivity, so I started experimenting on myself. I was at 6% body fat when I started to do 180 grams of Vitamin C twice a week for a month, and I got down to 2.8% body fat without changing anything else. I asked the doctors on my staff to start using the procedure on my athletes and we figured out that in 4 weeks, we could get body composition changes in 4 weeks that we normally get in 10 weeks."

He mentions some interesting stuff in that interview. The only problem is that for the average joe, it is pretty much impossible to get access to what he has. Heck, steroids are easier to get...

fonz used to say injectable alcar could help in spot reduction. it was 3-5g daily, and multiple shots. i had a PM about it in my old account and have no idea how valid his info was

to be honest i think it's probably a waste of time. it's better to focus on proven weightloss techniques (diet/cardio :))

Increased insulin sensitivity is something we could really benefit, and especially this would be great if using GH for 2 reasons:
1 - counteract the decreased insulin sensitivity from the GH
2 - help in the production and repair of (new) tissue (skin, tendons, muscle, et c).

I know I've seen injectible C online before, but can't remember where. When I saw it, I just thought it was pointless; why not just eat it? Gotta find that again.

Doubt anything is available that could be used IV-which is how CP used it.
I'd bet any Vit C injectables on the market if injected would burn like a biatch if not buffered...
As mentioned CP has access to a lot of things we don't.

I opt for the Ester-C non acidic oral form @10-12 grams a day....it helps tremendously over nothing at all.
