Of course, headbands can be both an effective solution to keeping sweat out of your eyes, as well as a wonderful accent to the fashion you present yourself in at the gym.
If you want a fun exercise, and want to save some money, you can make your own headbands.
You can go to your local fabric store and save a lot of money by just purchasing fabric of the style that you want, and then some elastics. Then simply cut a strip of the fabric - be sure to measure around your head first. The size of the strip that you cut should be just a little bit bigger than the distance around your head.
Then simply stitch the elastics into the inside of the fabric and be sure to make it so that it bunches up properly.
If you want to try something fun and exciting with that, you could even put in some cotton to absorb the sweat better, as well as fill out the shape of the headband better.
If that sounds like a bit too much for you, or you want to try something different, there are other options as well.
Sometimes when you buy things in a store, you don't feel as if you have put your personal mark on the item, but you don't necessarily have the time or skills to buy the fabric and make one.
You can make a party of this and invite friends over to make fun headbands, and a snack at the same time.
If you have any soft, light colored terrycloth towels or robes, then set those aside. Also set aside some beets that you have boiled ahead of time (but don't throw out the water).
If you don't have a towel or a robe that you can cut up, then you can use old socks, or even underwear.
Take your fabric of choice and dip it into the beet juice and then let it sit for 30 mins - during which time you and your friends can enjoy a healthy snack of the beets while you wait.
If you make a nice dried floral arrangement ahead of time and place that on the counter as you work, your friends and you will likely feel more at ease and also more productive.
After the time is up, then you can cut and stich the fabric as I mentioned with the store bought fabric as well, and you can even add on accessories if you like as well - such as lace, beads, or ribbons.
If you are in a bind for time, or your friends aren't interested in coming over, then you can do the same as above, but substitute just normal food coloring instead of the beets.
Your headband is now something that you will cherish and also remember the time that you spent making it and think of it fondly.
Plus you get the sense of pride that one gets when they make something wonderful for themselves.
Enjoy,.
