Gotta Say This

So here I sit in a cafe South Beach in 74 degrees looking at the T&A walk by. Can't complain.

Anyway, I was just checking in and wanted to say hi, and pass this little bit of opinion for everyone to chew on.

Everybody talks about getting their diet in order but anyone who's familiar with my work knows that I think diet is overrated.

NOW PAY ATTENTION BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO DO COUNTLESS RESPONSEs REPEATING THIS NEXT SENTENCE!!!

I am NOT advocating that it doesn't matter what you eat!!!! Got it? Good!

I'm just saying that you can only do so much with diet that will alter your body beyond weight loss and weight gain.

But this is the kicker...

When guys are "on" they think they can get sloppier with diet and THAT is the time you REALLY have to be consious of it. Steroids utilize nutrients far beyond what the body can do naturally, so in a sense, diet WILL dramatically make a difference when you're "on."

Wow! That's a NICE ass!

Oh sorry, now where was I ? Oh yeah. Diet. Don't expect miracles from eating well. But when you're doing a cycle, the more protein you eat, the more you grow. it's simple biology.

Okay, I gotta get back to the beach. Carry on bros.

It is a beautiful day in South Florida today for sure. Has been cold last few days though.

Gotta agree with you here Nelson. Since working with Omega I have changed my outlook somewhat on diet but yes when your on you really do need to kick the protein and nutrition generally into overdrive to take full advantage of the AAS.

Wow - I've read a lot of your posts Nelson. I guess I somehow missed the ones about diet being overrated....

dont come in here rubbing it in and keep it all to yourself you lucky son of a bitch take some pictures for us.

and good point about the protein. i think that is something that some people seem to over look.

I aim 1.75-2g/lb on cycle. will try more this time cuz of DC training.

Anyone ever go above 2g/lb.???

I mean there should be a limit even while on AAS and wonder what that might be. Lots of factors involved, I wanna hear some experiences no more theory...

i eat 600g at 230lbs? but here is 1 of several examples of the problem with measuring food per lb of body weight. if you and i both weigh 230lb at the same 20%bf and are the same meso/endo but i am 5'5'' tall and you are 6'5'' tall then i am going to need more protein than you.

well I am 6-4 :)

why would I need less protein than shorter guys??

Thanks

im not saying you need more or less i am saying that it is better to forget about the numbers and just try different things and see what happens. all of those you should eat this much of this and that number quotes are only an inacurate start point. everything needs to be learned through experimentation.

Protien is what your individual body does with. Steroids help that..but in the end it's your genetics. I gained 10lbs in 3 weeks on Cyclobolan and Icon..2 OTC prohormones...PCT with sustain I'm at 6 weeks later now at 257 lbs (solid 7lbs over where I started if I round up when I started because on days I ate before the gym I'd tip 250) Deadlift is up to 390 bench has dropped maybe...5 percent from on cycle..and that was a very very SHORT cycle..What does that say? My body does more with less..my protien was around 300 grams a day.

LMAO! You tell him Joe d and that lil girl in the avatar makes this comment!lol!

RADAR

The g per lb is just an estimate. There is no exclusive ratio that applies to everyone. However, I've found that bumping up the protein while on makes ALL the difference. For example, all things being equal, if one were to take 500 mgs of T a week and eat 300 mgs of protein a day it's most likely he'll make better gains than if he took a gram of Ta week and ate 100 grams of protein a day.

another "idea" with no science to back it up. i can show you a guy your age nelson who is 195 at 5'7", peeled to the bone (no gh), and never goes over 220 grams of protein a day. franco columbo has been quoted as saying he never went over .5g of protein per pound and used carbs and fats to add and lose weight. just another pointless opinion. thats one of the main problems with bbing. people perpetuating opinions as fact and the internet spreads them like wildfire. let me guess, consuming protein, carbs, and fats in the same meal is bad too? i better get my wazy maize/dextrose and whey in post workout or im gonna lose the anabolic window. :verygood:

diet only matters to me 6 weeks out of the year.

x2. I'm glad someone like nelson posted this because if I had everyone would have ripped me for it. I do not eat clean at all. As a matter of fact, I eat fast food about 6-8 times/week. Let me say that again: I eat fast food about 6-8 times/week. I just had my fat comp measured and I was 9.9%! I found it hard to believe so I made them redo the comp and it came out the same. Protein in about the only thing that matters to me, as long as I am getting that I don't really care about the rest. Not everyone can get away with this, I am just lucky I guess.

On Tren and igf I've eaten 600g protein a day and weighed 250 @ maybe 10-12 % bf. Right now off cycle I'm eating MAYBE 150g protein and 2000-3000 calories a day and I'm 225, 8%bf. I'm not dieting, only eat when I'm hungry and generally eat clean. So it's impossible to say when all the variables aren't the same but in general if you are on, then 3g per lb of bw is probably gonna help gain. But to maintain, protein requirement may be over stated.

A senseless statement.

First of all, you're connecting and conflating other points to what I said.

Secondly, just because there are exceptions does not negate the point. That's liek saying that I know someone who smoked a pack of cigerettes a day and lived to be 80 and didn't die of cancer, thereffore, you might as well smoke a pack of cigarettes a day.

Thirdly, my original point was that diet (and that includes nutrient combining and timing) has little to do with overall results. But when you add gear, protein consumption matters quite a bit because that's what steroids do -- they regenerate nitrogen.

Try and actually read what you respond to before attempting to put it down.

you have zero basis for your statements about protein consumption and they ride side by side with your cardio opinions. there are pubmed articles that will completely agree and disagree with your "opinion". to say that i know people who consume far less protein than you and the ridiculous magazines recommend and they are an exception but your opinion is more credible is comical. and to say diet has little to do with overall results, where do you even come up with some of this stuff? i can say from experience, huffing down as much protein as i can in the hopes to gain extra muscle has never happened but it has kept my bf on, yet by simply taking in 2.4 grams per kilogram of bw i can drop fat and hold onto muscle all the same. there is no general protein rule and scientists will say that. why should your "opinion" be held higher than people who have actually studied this?

and 1 more question: how can someone who has been on hrt for years talk about dieting without gear?

It's about 15 here in Ny right now, lol. I leave for Costa Rica in a few weeks though.
I totally agree with Nelson on this, some DO have freaky gentics that allow their diet to make amazing gains I'm sure as well though without gear.

Nelson are you in Sobe again?? I'd love to see you bro..I'm like 70 miles north. Have a great time bro. Lots of hot skanks to enjoy down there. I recommend you the titty bars north of the border in the Ft. Lauddy area.

Wow, you really are clueless aren't you?

First of all, what does my being on HRT have to do with this? Do you think I started bodybuilding after I was on HRT?!?!?

And there are lots of things published that disagree with lots of other things that are published. I'm published. Again, what the fuck does that do with anything?

Dude, you have no argument other than to say you disagree -- which is fine. But don't be so arrogant when you can't even concoct a reasonable argument. It just wastes the boards time.

YO UFO! Plenty o' tittles right here on the beach!

when i overload on protein i grow like a weed!! off cylce to.. on cycle even better!!!

So wait, you say more protein and you are in the know, i disagree and have personal and empirical data (studies that are easily reproducible) and im clueless? i'll even admit that studies will disagree with my opinion but at least i will show both.

typical nelson response. you preach "opinion" and when questioned you attempt to blow off having to come up with a credible response. i dont just disagree, id like you to come up with a better reasoning than your opinion, which, 95% of the time, is all you preach, your opinion.

what does hrt have to do with diet? anyone who says you cant be alittle sloppy with diet while augmenting with aas and then turning around and saying without aas you dont have to worry as much sounds pretty funny to me. considering the enhanced metabolic rate and recovery while using aas which uses more energy which in turn could allow one to be sloppier with their diet or take in more calories. so, as usual, you come in and say the opposite of what everyone knows. thats what you do. always.

now you'll respond with some smarmy comeback but this time try and leave out the curse words. arent you alittle old to try and get your point across in such an ignorant manner?

YOU'RE CLUELESS BECAUSE YOU'RE ARGUING A SEPARATE POINT TO WHAT I MADE.

I WASN'T "PREACHING" ANYTHING -- JUST GIVING AN EDUCATED OPINION BASED ON EVIDENCE.

OKAY, WHATEVER.

I NEVER ASKED THAT. WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO?

IT'S CALLED GIVING ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE AND NOT JUST ACCEPTING THE ESTABLISHED REASONING, WHICH IS OFTEN WRONG. SORRY IF IT MADE YOUR BRAIN HURT.

I USED CURSE WORDS? WHERE? SAYING WTF? GEEZ, SENSITIVE, AIN'TCHA?
