My face is a little busted up. I was walking down St.Catherines with my fiance in front of me. This guy eye'd my girl up and down so I made eye contact with him after. He said something to me, and I was like that's my girl. He lunged at me and started to fight.
I grabbed him and picked up off the ground and threw him on his back. As brought him to the ground two of his homies jumped and started kicking and punching me, they knocked me unconscious for a little bit. Not many cops and a lot of gangs make Montreal one of the more dangerous places to do.

Yeah big city Canada can be pretty dangerous. Lots of gangs and they ain't scared of the cops - they'll even shoot young girls during daylight downtown xmas shopping times. I blame Canadians trying to protray this hippie paradise myth of Canada to foreigners.

He's right but Ste-Catherine's a very long street. Gay village starts around Berri and Ste-Catherine.
Sorry to hear about this. It's not common but as with any large city it happens. You have to be somewhat cautious at times. Had you just ignored the look I'm sure nothing would have happened.
