you said it didnt penetrate the skin right? how prevalant is rabies in canuck land? photo it and check the wound for any infection, changes in colour, bad smells etc

I feel dogs are better than most humans.

I don't think the dog was trying to klll me -- it wasn't going insane or anything. I think it just wanted to knaw on me a little. lol Guess it didn't like the way I looked or something.
when i had dogs, i used to let them off the leash all the time.
But we had docile dogs strictly trained with the back of the hand. Irish setter and yellow lab female. No problems.
Not all dogs need to be kept on leashes because not all dogs are bred primarly for aggression, protection or hunting.

still, the owner was wrong to threaten you with physical violence due to her not being able to control her dog. if she knows he;s uncontrolable then you leash him. provided he is well trained enough you can let him loose, my dog is let off the leash and while he does run after other dogs and occasionally used to scrap with them he would NEVER hurt a human, or ever get into a proper fight
