Goals?

New member
Since we are between two major holidays I thought I would ask what everyone has on their plate for goals.

I want to stay around 240. I need to bring up my shoulders, upper back and quads.
Another area for me is my cardio. Just to be healthier.

If all goes well I should be in great shape by the summer. I'm fairly lean now. I just have some balancing out to do.
 
Bigger and stronger and leaner for me! Dont care about weight too much, but def wanna lower that bf% and add mass.
 
Same for me guys that's if this god dam 5x5 don't murder me first lol

It really is an amazing work out program.
 
I would like to stick to the clean diet I started today :), increase my squats to 2xx and get lean and sexy for my hunny...181 days to go (not that I'm counting lol) til I get to see the handsomest man on the planet again!! <3 <3 <3

Hey everyone, my goals are to add a lil more mass but get my bf% down some...also I want to gain more upper body strength...guys always look at me when I'm doing legs n think Ur pretty strong, but I'm always thinking, "yeah u haven't seen me on the bench press yet, have u"..LOL...so strength, mass, and lower bf%:-)

Bro at your weight as height I have just the formula for you man. You sould strongly consider the Strong Lifts 5s5. Google it and give it some thought my good man. You would be a beast!!

I'm in the same boat! I get super frustrated lifting 4-5 times the weight on the legs than I bench!

I will def check it out. Lately I have been going lighter with more volume. Its crippling me but I love it.
The surgeon told me to go light until June and then I can start going heavier. He knows how I want to lift and said better safe then back in his office (been under the knife once a year for the last three years with him).
 
By all means then go with what he said bro. Slow and easy = long term!
 
I feel for you been injured is so hard totally knocks the routine. But when you get better I think it pushes you to go back with a vengeance ...hope things feel better soon for you!

I will tell you what. If you get it and compete in Hartford you are invited to all the after show fun. We had a pretty bad ass time at this last show. VIP set up at the club etc. Even an after hours event. Everyone from the show started bailing at 3am though. Their bodies were done! Lots of great people though.

So what do you guys need to get where you want to be?

I think I need to change up my workouts. I'm plateauing on some things right nowand a little complacent and to get my diet on point, which I've started this week. I've got a 10k mud run on 3/24 and leaving for cancun w/ friends the day after so that's my target date.

Sorry to here your hitting that brick wall I hate that thing lol. Good luck with finding the the perfect workout I'm sure you will hit your target.

I'm trying to integrate some 5x5 to see if I can break through. Seems to be doing good things for you!
 
Switch it up! Not only will it help you get through your wall but it will also get you even more motivated to hit the gym since there is new stuff to do. As they say "variety is the spice of life".

I've been thinking about this thread for awhile. My goal is to set some new goals. I've been injured most of this year and really had periods of being so discouraged and down. I'll get some goals up soon!! Great thread though...has really given me a reason to think about where I want to go in the near future. :)

Sorry to hear that you've been injured, I haven't spent much time on here and so I didn't realise...

Whats injured and have you been training much?

I just need to stick to the plan that I have. It is already working very well.

Cali I really do know where your coming from about being injured. Believe me I really do.
What worked for was a long walk away, refresh and come back with a vengence.
Hope the very for you sista. And keeping up on here helps a whole lot too.

Sometimes the number one goal has to be to stay healthy for a while. I have definitely had my share of time on the disabled list. Heal up stronger than you were before. You will come back more motivated than ever ;)
 
Yep it sucks so bad to get injured and then the recovery time. Its just dam tuff but you gotta give your bod time to heal all the way. And then come back with a vengence, like ready for war!

Same here. In the last year I have been in the ER 3x. Once for for tearing my pec (including off the bone at both connections) and blowing out my back bad 2x. I also had hernia surgery. I always find myself trying to do something as soon as I can walk. I like having to find new exercises. Its a good challenge.
 
I really need to get my cardio back up. I went hiking this weekend and it was alarming how out of shape I have become. Time to get healthy!

I'm sure there are a ton more reasons but here are a few:

-severe sleep apnea (I don't hit REM sleep so no recovery)
-extremely low testosterone

I'm self employed at the moment. Looking to get back into the corporate world. When I do the solutions to the problems about will be more readily available with good insurance. Fingers crossed!!!

sleep apnea?! dang that sucks. you arent getting any recovery. Slat is it bad enough where you need a cpap?

Oh yeah. My Doctor freaked out when he saw my sleep study. I guess it was one of the worst he had seen and he has extensive experience in that area.
I hated the machine but tried to use it as much as possible. I started dreaming again when I used it.
I left my job and lost my insurance. $900/month was not in the budget so I am not using the machine. Hopefully an opportunity I am pursuing comes through. If it does I am getting it again. I want to live a nice long life!
 
My goal is to cut 10 pounds and get back into the 120's -without losing any muscle of course

I'm going to stay consistant with my diet and pay attention to EVERYTHING I eat so I can finally see the results of all my hard work in the gym.
