Girl friends mom has bad case of dementia

Wow I never knew this could be so bad her mom is in her 70's husband of 60 years just died and she is a walking zombie and forgets everything even where to use the bathroom.It breaks my heart for her to have to deal with this but I guess its all part of life.Anyone else have dealt with this?

My Mom has started suffering from this earlier this year. In a period of 6 months she has gone so far down that we are considering a home for her, not to hide her but to protect her. This is a sad thing to watch and I feel for your g/f. Good luck.

yep..going thru it now. My Gram has stomach cancer and ended up in the hospital this week. Honestly cannot remember a thing.

Sad part, is she never finished her will and that in itself is going to become a nightmare from hell.

Many people don't realize the many causes of dementia. One of which can be diet. If you suffer from diabetes, you are at risk for dementia or alzheimers. In the south, the typical diet of fried and greasy fat food is a killer, not only for the heart but the mind, and strokes can be another trigger.
