GH = limb extremity growth? Your experiences...

I recall reading a GH experience thread awhile back where one previous user reported having experienced an increase in the girth of his wrist, and enlargement of his hands. THis is the first time I've read about it, have any other people experienced this as well? What was your daily IU intake, and for how long?

You've been misinformed. Unless one is already prone to acromeglia, gh can't cause growth of the bones in an adult.

Gh induced edema can, however, cause the hands to swell temporarily.

I disagree, acromegely isn't really a condition from being too sensitive to gh so much as it is a condition of producing too much gh, which causes the bone growth, etc.

If one were to take an amount of gh similar to that produced by the pituitary of someone with acromegaly, height would not increase (if the individually had already reached maturity), but I believe that bone thickness, especially in the hands, wrists, feet, fingers, and forehead would increase....

So basically, if someone took an unusually large amount of gh for an extended period, I think some of the unwanted bone growth could occur. 5 IU's a day will probably not come close to doing that though.

**** GH CAN cause bone growth in mature adults, but it will not cause an increase in the length of bones once the epiphyseal plates have closed. Therefore, growth in hands and feet in regards to girth would seem plausible...
