i would say that if you have gained alot of weight recently then your knees should be hurting. maybe drop some weight and see if that helps. my knees have been hurting since this summer when i did my first cycle. i have taken 2 months off from legs and running and they are slowly getting better. i don't think my knees liked the new twenty pounds and the sprints i was running. it was weird because i could run sprints up hills but not on flat ground. good luck with the draft, maybe my pats will pick you up. let us know
