gear and tendonitis

i realize the use of A.S. has some negative effects on the connective tissues of the body, currently i'm experiencing pretty bad pattellar and IT band tendonitis in both knees, just at the time i am being scouted for the NFL draft, i believe years of football has contributed to this but there is still a nagging question in my mind that steriod use has contributed in some part to this injury

my question, Is there anyone that has had some problems with this, football player or not, could give me some advice whether or not to go get cut on, my steriod use has not been extremely lengthy with 4 cycle, thanx

Bro, go and find a good "Prolotherapy" doc. It works. If you want to know what it is, or what it does, just do a search on the net, you'll find plenty.

prolotherapy, injecting a solution into a tendon to promote healing, do u have any experience with this method? it looks very interesting

Absolutely, I've gone to my doc in Syracuse, NY (Dr. Finkenstadt) three times to get both elbows worked on. The solution forces the tendon to go into a healing (proliferation) mode which causes them to strengthen and become thicker and much more stable. Both of my elbows were completely fucked, to put it plainly. I only have a little tendonitus left in my left elbow now. Other then that, my elbows feel as strong as any part of my body. I have an appointment to get my lower back worked on at the end of this month. Both of my shoulders are next. There's no question that it works, take the time to look into it, you won't be dissapointed. Oh, my doc said he wished he knew Larry Bird because he's a big fan and said he definitely could have kept him playing with Prolo. Good luck, bro.

thanx for the info, health insurance probably doesn't cover it but if it is as cheap as i have heard that is no problem

My PCP gave me a referral so mine is covered. All I pay is a $20 co-pay. Actually I do pay a bit more, something like $20 or $30 more than that which wasn't covered by insurance. You'll need a referral as this is considered a specialist's treatment. But any decent PCP should do that for you. These are MD's doing this, not chiro's or like that. That makes it easier. I'm pretty sure it's also classified as a surgical procedure. So that makes it easier to get covered. hth

One other thing, you ought to call my doc and ask him to refer a doc in your area. My doc actually teaches the stuff and apparently knows just about everyone in the country that does it. If you do want to do this, email me and I'll give you his info.
