Gambling leads to bankruptcy

I am glad to hear you are taking some steps to control this, the checks deposited into someone else's account is a great start, build yourself a good support system, go out with friends to places that do not involve bars or casinos with those machines, go to the movies, have people over at your place, visit your parents, get a pet and take it for walks and go to the park, take up a hobby or a class, socialize, keep yourself busy to maintain the thoughts and desires to gamble out of your head, know a fulfilling life without gambling again.

Good luck bro, you know I wish you the best and I'm a PM away.

Sorry to hear about your losses. My dad has been playing texas hold em games in illegal small room games for 10 years now, and runs two of them per week. He's pulling in probably $3,000 per week. Yeah, sometimes I'll call and ask him how the game went and he'll say he lost $500, but more often than not it's the other way around. I hope he doesn't end up in the shithole, he's 70 years old and I can't take care of him.

Sorry to hear. Get help bro

Thats not really that small if he's pulling in $3000 a week. Games like that can get pretty damn big real quick. I guarantee he's not winning $3k most weeks and only losing $500 occasionally. I'm not saying he's losing his ass. He's probably a decent player but unless he's playing with idiots every week, that's just not how it works.

I used to play in a game that started as $1/$2 blinds with maybe $2500 on the table total. Maybe 10 months later the game was $5/$10 but every pot was nearing a grand, so I quit playing. A year or so later a guy gambled away everything he had and was in debt for over $100k so he killed himself on his way home from the game. I'll never understand why you can't just quit.

oh, and an old man shot another old guy because he got beat with some bullshit hand, recently. Crazy old bastards. We don't have gang bangers down here. We've got old white men that like to gamble.

LMAO, yeah. He plays $5/10 for the most part. All I know is he only carries cash on him and always pays for everything when we go out to expensive ass restaurants.

He's probably pretty damn good then. And hosting can bring in some decent cash if you pull a small percentage out of every pot with all pots being at least $3-400.
I should host a game and just deal. Between the house's percentage and dealer tips I could pay for my juice without coming out of pocket

Filing for bankruptcy must be incredibly challenging, but it sounds like a necessary step to protect your home and car. It's smart that you've rerouted your paychecks for essentials – gotta prioritize the important stuff. Have you considered seeking support groups or counseling for gambling addiction? Talking to others who've been through it might provide some insights.
