my shit is hella hectic right now, baseball season has started and I'm coaching JV baseball at my kids school this year. Not a lot of time for EF lately, but as some of you may know I sometimes have a problem with what you people call da social skillz. Already had a fucking altercation with a kids dad that ended badly, but help me out nuggas. How do you tell parents your kid fucking sux and should take piano lessons in a nice way, I had to tell a mom today that age 13 is not the time to buy your kid a glove and expect him to get playing time amongst kids who have been on 3 USSSA State Championship teams and my kid has played for a team out of North Carolina who won the USSSA 12-U majors world series. And honestly the first thing that came to my mind to say was that you should have given more consideration to a fucking abortion when you found out you were pregnant. I'm trying to be nice here guys, but I love ya'll so if I ain't around much just know to DIE, kiss my ass and burn in hell.

Yes it is those lil bastards are quick

I have already been threatend with assault charges too, but I'm not getting into that. LOLOLOLOLOL

Grow the fuck up dude. All those kids are going to quit. Set an example for your players. And just cuz the kids are decent now doesnt mean shit when they hit high school. Half of em will quit.

you cut the shitty kids in tryouts.

Naw bro its private school shit, if you come out your on the team. It's a very talented team all and all. 16 kids and 10 of them or fucking phenoms, they will go undefeated this year for sure, its just hard when you have to spend more time trying to get 6 to understand wtf is going on than you do getting your 10 ballers reps. The advantage is I have coached the 10 of these kids for going into the 7th year now, so they pretty much do their thing at practice its the same practice we have had for 7 years, just the 6 jungle monkeys urk my ass with the cutting up shit

let the ballers run up the score, then put in the scrubs.

or insert one or two scrubs into the starting lineup at the end of the lineup

if they're as good as you say they are, they should have no problem blowing it up in the first couple of innings

I am a firm believer in winners and losers and great and good. It teaches young bros to grow some balls and be a man!!! Be a leader first and foremost, those kids look up to you as their leader and believe me some of them respect and look up to you more than their own father. Its important to be professional, but you know this already.

I support your idea that if the kids sucks you dont play them, agreed. With that said bro you need to do it in a constructive way that implies they need to work harder. Motivate the ones that are "less" worthy, show them things that will help them. By simply ignoring their existence and throwing them under the bus you simply look like a selfish prick. Im not saying play them, im saying mentor them. Coaching has many elements and if you really care and want to be a positive coach utilize all avenues to help ALL the players. Mad Respect if you do this....its not easy.

great point. especially if the kids work harder than the ballers, you should reward them

Dude check this shit out my team, the all private school kids, played the local public school team this year in rec ball, we had two teams that represented our county in junior league ball this summer, we beat the other team 26 to 0 in 3 innings and my kid struck out on purpose with bases joosed to keep from adding more insult to injury. Mr. Justin as his classmates call him swings a big ass bat for a 13 yr old kid, cuz hit 12 of 15 pitches today at practice out right handed and hit 7 more left handed. He also ran an offical 4.57 40yd dash on lasers today at football practice during PE. Now CW tell me how to get the nuggas grades up cause they have gone to shit

That would work for about 1 game. Then all the parents will be ranting about how Strongbow only puts his crappier players in once the game is locked up for the W

SB does not play to only win, SB plays to destroy your will to live. I do however love to see a less talented kidd bust his ass and give his all to the team when given the chance. I reward hard practice with oppertunity, I love my kids, like my own, remember I have Coached 10 of them since they were 6. My kid is playing a full varsity schedule this year so I am coaching for all my boys not just Mr. Justin. The greatest thing I have learned coaching kids is that you must coach each child as an individual, Mr Justin requires being hit in the head with a 90mph heater to get his shit together, wheres one of my best kids Adam needs to be encourged with jokes and bullshit, Mason needs to be hugged, Zeke needs love, Tony needs a scissors kick to the fucking back of his head and on and on. I know them individually well enough to get the most out of them, part of being a good coach for me is studying the ways they react to things.

One of my favorite sayings applying to athletics is, Hustle beats talent, when talent don't hustle. Words for every young athlete to live by right there.

its hard work beats talent, when talent doesnt work hard

Am I gonna have to bomb you or call Steve in here to kick your ass LOLOZ:biggrin:

Cool shit bro....you definately said a lot more stuff in this post compared to the first one. The first one sounds more harsh/crazy as opposed to this one. You seem to have it figured out I was just giving some input seemingly at your request. Goodluck with the team.

Punch the know it all Dad for me, I know you deal with that shit on a daily basis.

The school ball is a lil diffrent than the USSSA Travel Ball I'm use to, not near as cut and dry with parents, this is where my lack of da social skillz hurts me. I had a mom one time come up to me at the begining of a game, tournament ball mind you, team built to win and only win. She says to me my kid don't play left field, I looked out there as the pitcher threw the first pitch and looked back at her and said oh my bad, let me fix that shit. I call timeout and proceed to move his ass to right field, and then I turned and asked her if he played right field, cause the only other fuckng spot I had was one on the bench for him. They lasted about 3 tournaments and quit. Everybodies lil boy is a shortstop in their moma and daddy's eys loloz.

I'm surprised noone has asked why these kids are JV if they're so talented.

Kids are in the 8th grade Elroy, and Mr.Justin is the starting shortstop on the varsity team.

just an analogy...freestyle wrestling at its highest level is technically demanding...most of the people that you see on the international scene have been wrestling since they were small children...a friend of mine who came from a bad home and who had constant disciplne issues while we were in high school, didn't start wrestling until he was a sophomore which was laughable (our highschool has had a lot of state champs and has won the team title over the years)...but, he was big and strong and had balance like one of those fucking mountain goats that you see tiptoeing along rocky cliffs...he had a decent career in highschool and even made it to the state tournament as a senior...after highschool he drifted for a year or two, getting drunk and getting into fights, then he joined the army to get the hell out of town before he got thrown in the pokey...he wrestled in the army and over his eight year career his skills just blew up...he ended up being a world champion in sambo and he beat randy couture's ass every day for the last four years that he wrestled (they were roommates)...the moral of my story? you never know...albert pujols came to the u.s. as a 16 year old and hit .500 in his first year of organized baseball in the u.s.

it only takes one kid like that to come along when you least expect it and you will talk about it for the rest of your life.

My kid is honestly an athletic phenom, big, strong, fast 13yo in the 8th grade, very close to 5'9" tall 160 lbs and runs a fucking 4.6 second 40. I have seen very few kids develope athletically at the rate he has, but the sad part is almost all who have got burnt out and chose a diffrent path, at least the 2 or 3 who have been around this neck of the woods in my lifetime have. Sad part for my kid is if the lil fucker don't get serious about school, athletics is all he will have to fall back on. My oldest son never played a down of football till he was in thw 10th grade, he has a scholarship and plays corner for a Division 1AA team. So I see your point, speed is the biggest thing for both my kids, fastest white people you ever seen, oldest is a low 4.4 in the 40, but I dont worry bout him cause he's an A student and wants to got to Med school.

i hope my kids turn out to be baller athletes like urs bro

You would love my oldest son, you two remind me a lot of each other, he's cocky and arrogant as hell, gets that shit from his mom, but the nugga is fun to be around, and he pulls mad ass dimes bro. I'll post up a pic of him tomorrow, he's a good looking dude, gets that shit from his daddy:)

he forgot to mention the varsity team is the New York Yankees.

I already said the kids were in the 8th grade and one of them does play varsity. Contain Yo Hate Bish Nugga

As an added note I'm fairly certain Mr.Justin would hit for a higher average than Nick Swisher versus the same pitching. Wurd

This kind of shit is the reason I didn't get into coaching hockey. It's very structured in Canada...you have to get your coaching license and then get stuck coaching really young kids playing fucking house league. That means every kid gets equal icetime as per league rules, and all but a couple of kids on your team suck. I just couldn't deal with putting in the seasons with the house league scrubs before I qualified to coach a rep team where the kids have talent and you can bench the ones that deserve to be benched (or bag skate the team at the next practice when they shit the bed). And dealing with the idiot parents is an even bigger factor...like you touched on, every kid is a first-liner and belongs on the first powerplay unit in their parents' eyes. They have the balls to get up in your face like their kid is Nick Lidstrom even when their kid is in reality a droopy-ankled pilon of a defenseman who gets turned inside-out for 2 or 3 goals every damn game.
