Fiancee expects me to pay for her gas. Yes/no?

I gave her $20. yes-she gave the lady $10 tip... Said she felt bad for her.
- she does have a good heart..

Ummmmm Hold on a minute now and back that thang up. She is going to go gambling even though she is unemployed and doesn't have money for gas and feels that YOU should be paying for it.

I've been to AC many MANY times and did not gamble so I do know there are other things to do, so I am guessing about the gambling thing.

She gave HALF of the money YOU GAVE HER FOR GAS, "Because she felt badly for the attendant?" Why should she "feel badly" for someone who has a job?... especially when she is unemployed?

But then she gets miffed if you don't give her more gas money?

May I ask how old you two are? I am thinking maybe mid 20's?

I am NOT taking cheap shots at anyone.

A good heart? Please. She's just VERY comfortable spending YOUR money. Run, don't walk...

True indeed, however "you're my fiancee, you should be doing that" implies she expects he'll be footing the bills whether she can afford her own or not. Her money will go to makeup, drinking with the girls, presents, etc. His money goes to the house.

It hurts me to say this but a girlfriend of mine is like this.
I still remember when she was mad that she had to pay for groceries "with her money" the same groceries that she and her children eat.

Pretty much my feelings too.

If someone was nice enough to give me money for gas, I sure the shit wouldn't hand it over to a washroom attendant who was gainfully employed while I was NOT.

I think you've got a good bead on this situation. Straighten this guy out before he's locked into misery.

sometimes i get the feeling she is unappreciative. its probably just me being weird though..

No, it's you thinking the problem is you... which it IS, if you continue to ignore your gut.

she said she watched her sister and mother gamble.. we are mid/late 20s. me 28, her 25.

what a great point you make though: why feel badly for someone employed!!!
i wish i would have thought of that and said that to her.

haha: I did once and she got really mad and thats when she said that i SHOULD be paying for it. I replied to her calmly by saying that it was stupid that we are fighting over gas...
so you SHOULD, hey? consider your future (or lack of) carefully with this gal...she sounds like a gal who considers a joint checking account as "Married Man's Alimony" while she keeps HER money in a separate account. :worried:

wow, fighting over 20 bucks.

it's likely not just over 20 bucks. by page 5, we'll have him openly questioning his engagement.

btw, i'd give you 20.99, no questions asked.
