Few ?'s on AB routines

just recently started caring about training abs. just wondering what most of you like to do most to work them other than you standard sit-up and hanging knee raises? and how often do you train them-a lil everday or do you set days to work them hard like other muscles? when doing situps, should i just grab a 45 to do them or actually try to increase my weight as i go or..?
any input is appreciated
