feds in hushmail....?

Can't let it get to you. If you're going to worry for everything in life, you're going to live a miserable life.

Exactly, just live day by day, don't make stupid decisions, and don't lose any sleep over what MIGHT happen.

Let me say I worked with a VERY VERY smart person on cyber safety for about 3 months for a large fee of course, and he tought me things that will for sure keep me out of harms way, I cant give out his addy but he is on the boards, not sure about EF but that is his job, he stops hackers from hacking banks, DMV's etc etc. The most important thing he said is 1. ALWAYS change your PW every 4 days, and make it like this for example 3rx::4rte as he said NO cracking program from any govt agency can crack a code like this in under 7 days, so 4 is extra safe. And second when setting up a cyber account or hush for example always do it from a comp that has SATELITE connection, not cable, DSL or dial up, as he said satelite computers are almost impossible to track which one is locked on, BUT do it from say kinkos or somewhere that has sat connection, not cable or DSL....Also must haves are firewalls, anti spy, anti virus, personally I have 2 firewalls running and I use Findnot.com to change my IP addy, its cheap as hell, like 7$ per month or less, and you can pick from about 40 different servers to sign onto, and you can actually choose which one you want and from which country, they have russia, amsterdam, germany, Texas, Florida, hungray, poland etc etc,,,,check it out, and it barley slows down your connection at all if you have cable......

If its an accepted fact that the Feds can easily get into any hushmail/secure email account at will then whats the point in using them?

It always seemed like a little "cops and robbers" game that we played on EF.

They could do 100 different things to get access to your e-mail before they waste the time to crack the actual engine - trust me.

One of my college teachers a few years ago liked to brag about how he helped .gov develop this program. He was a lib.

I dont know if this applies but what the hell I thought I'd share it with you anway.

I remember reading an article where some lady was going thru security at one of the major airports and because she was running late and the TSA was in no big hurry she mumbled something to the effect if she wanted to get a bomb on board the airplane these pee-ons (TSA screeners) couldn't stop her.
Unfortunately one of the screeners heard her pulled her off to the side where she was quickly arrested and detained for 4 hours while they ran a security check on her.
Once she was released she inquired about her luggage, she was informed that because of the threat when her luggage arrived at its destination they feds couldn't take any chances so they submerged her luggage in water and blew it up.
To my understanding the Patriot act gives the Feds more latitude than you can imagine and if they happen to stumble on a source in the name of National Security whose going to question it?

WTF!!! No fucking way man... I call BS on that article. Did you read it on april 1st?

What are you guys saying.....should I be worried about the fact that I can't get into my mail account today...you guys really know how to push a blokes panic button.

If they want you they have you.
Most people get caught by chance. They will get tipped off on a distributer. They will then monitor the distributor. They will have all the info from every transaction at that point.
Just assume every phone call and every email you send is being listened to and read.
