Fasted Morning Cardio

been doing this once a week, gonna start doing it twice a week now.

I usually have some coffee and green tea extract then some whey in water before. But I wanna know how long should I do it for? 30mins? 45mins? 60mins? I would have thuoght after a while it would become catabolic?
 
its not fasted if you have that whey. you'll be fine with 30 minutes. the coffee will give ya a boost, and the green tea will help suppress cortisol levels. keep intensity nice and slow, especially if your Bodyfat is at the lower end.

Well I only have the whey if I actually feel hungry before I go.
My bf is like 18% I think.

not an expert and i'm sure you can get better advice from the guys, but from experience, AM cardio works. consuming any calories is going to effect max fat burning. personally i don't think you have to worry about any muscle loss. keep it nice, simple and easy and your body will willingly let go of fat to preserve muscle. i'd stay in the range of 20-45 min.

yeah sounds good, Ill just have to get up earlier and drop the whey lol. Iv been doing it at like 12.00pm lately lol cause I get up so late on weekends!

I do fasted cardio every morning for 45-60 minutes. Either low intensity or mix of low intensity plus 15 minutes HIIT. Even with a healthy dose of T3, no muscle loss.

Of course, I've never done fasted cardio without being on AAS. So I can't comment on the catabolic effects while not on AAS.

do your cardio post weight training. same effect without having to deal with possible muscle loss. chris aceto said anything over 30 minutes fasted will begin to cut into muscle.
 
i like the early am on an empty stomach. it is the best time to do it. i would step it up to 3 days per wk. until you reach your desired bf%
 
I havent noticed any muscle loss while hitting AM cardio. As soon as Im done the AM session is have a nice meal with lots of protein...I do 30 to 45mins like 5 days a week right now.

muscle loss during cardio no matter what time you do it leads to muscle loss to some digree for most. the majority of people seem to have better results first thing in the morning, but do it post w/o because its simply more convenient

post w/o is imo your second best choice. i wouldnt do more than 20-30 mins. at any one time and i wouldnt do any more than 3-4 days per wk unless your going low into the singles.

OK well I already do 20mins post workout cause I ride my bike to and from the gym. So if I do 20mins post workout 3 times a week and fasted morning cardio twice a week for 35mins then that should be ok?
 
EM, you and i are in the same boat. both at 18% and doing this. keep it up bro, well get six packs together. Keep it on an empty stomach.

morning cardio vs pm cardio vs post training cardio. there is very little difference. mentally people might feel fasted cardio is better but it really comes down to how tight your diet is and how hard youre training. cardio done 3 hours after your last meal is considered a fasted state.

yeah! keep me updated on your progress, right now you can see my top two abs pretty clearly in the morning and the two below that faintly, if I tense them. Definition in forearms especially have improved since I started diong cardio and cut out the crap like whole pizzas before bed...

it looks good to me. just do it and see what happens. if you need to make changes i would make then in the diet.

My main problems are as follows:

before bed, if we dont have any cottage cheese in then Im stuck for what to eat, cottage cheese isnt really filling anyway.

when I get back from school Im stuck for what to eat especially if I got the bus home, my back aches from the walking and I just want somthing quick to make, eggs are ideal but I often have them before bed. If I have eggs after school then problem 1 occurs.

some days I am just never hungry...

lol, I dont eat that bad, like i said in the posts before those are my main problems. In the first week of cutting I lost 5lbs just from cutting out shit like whole pizzas before bed, lol but I think the 5lbs was mostly water as I just looked a bit less bloated...

cutting sucks I hate it
 
i alway do before breakfeast, 2 scoops of bcaa, one cup of coffe and then depending how i feel and look, i could do 40-70 min powerwalk, 5-7 days a week.

it could be enough whit 40-60 mins, 4-5 days a week but i like to eat=)
