Fast way to increase flexibility??

Hello,

I am just wondering if there is a good, but quick, way to increase flexibility in your legs. I have a dance performance coming up in about a week and a half. In the routine, I have to do the splits, spread eagles, and the kick-line. I am pretty close to the splits, but I would feel more comfortable with it if I could just get a little bit more flexible. Plus, I don't want to pull or tear anything during the performance and have it mess up my lifting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks a lot!

shit do both!:D

i've been doing yoga for about 6years (ashtanga) and find that when i have not done it for a while and feel stiff, quickest way is to stretch out in the sauna. One of the features, per se of ashtanga is that it is done in a heated room, it's a vigorous form of yoga. So doing it (or basic leg stretches) in the sauna if you can stand it, will loosen you up quickly. Be gentle, don't need any tears before that performance!

if you dont have access to a sauna...hot shower all the way.

Best of luck with it, hope you do well.

As often as you want! There's no harm in stretching, doing pilates, or yoga as much as you want as long as your muscles are warm. I personally find that kind of stretching to be VERY relaxing so I try to do it whenever I can.

Thanks ladies! I was hoping that that was something that I could do every night or morning. I am not sure why I thought that maybe I shouldn't!! Thanks for all the feedback :)
