Failed A Military Steroid Test

I'm in the Air National Guard and was tested for steroids back in Sept. Well the test came back today positive. They called me into the office and wanted to know what i had been taking. I rattled off a list of Pro hormones... Andro, methyl-1, etc... Took some empty bottles in and gave them to the investigator. He was going to consult with the JAG and get back with me. I have 17yrs in and don't want to get kicked out. I took some gear back in late Aug 2004. Haven't taken anything since than.
I really need some advice. Thanks.....

I am not a legal authority, but I would stick to the prohormone story being that they were legal for all to use up until a few weeks ago. It would be easy to argue that what you tested positive for was a precurser to what was found in your system.

I do not think they would kick you out because of one failed steroid test.
For first offence, probably you would be required to undergo counselling and probation.
I do not know about steroid testing, so don't be alarmed by what I am saying.
Normally, when someone is tested for recreational drugs, initially test is just for broad 'classes' of drugs.
If it comes back positive, then it is retested for the precise type of drug.
But as I said, that may not be true with steroid testing.

Can I ask why they tested you? I cant understand why the Air Guard would even care. Seems like allot of money waisted on a weekend airman.. I dont think they will kick you out. I know of many people in the military that take gear, they are Active duty and never got tested. I would like to hear why they thought you were on?

yes i'd like to hear why they tested you to. it's to expensive just to give a random juice test. they have to have cause or reason i should say to give a steriod test. did you look like you were obviously on somehting or did you slip up and someone knew you were on it. my advice when using while in military is tell NO ONE. not even your best friend. no one knows, no one can talk then.....

i was just gonna ask the same thing...why did they test u?....how big are ya? like i said in many other thread i know some huge soldiers that juice and i have yet to hear of soomeone getting test...not even stories.....not that it doesnt happen....but anytime it does it HAS to be special curcumstances....like a complete change of attitiude and body comp....

bro no offense to your military...but the United States military is completely different animal......with that being said you may be correct but i highly doubt it.....trust me the military has none-stop funds...so if they wanna crack down on something thewy will pay the few hundred dollars to do the test....its not like they are test the whole company or the brigade....just one person bro

I agree, there's little they can do about PH's. They were legal. Stick to it.

As a rule, the US military does not test for steroids in their normal random drug screenings. I've taken numerous ones. That means they had some cause to believe you were juicing. Most likely you told someone and they ratted you out. Stick to the pro-hormone story and you should be fine.

No they did not. Working in a lab I can tell you that ALL samples are kept for certain periods of time; and flagged/positive samples even longer.

However, the precursor story WILL fly because they are Pro-hormones. Meaning they are one step away from being a true steroid molecule and when taken by an individual they combine thru attraction to become the intended steroid molecule, or damn close to it.\

Do a search on half lives for steroids and you will see just how long the compound you took will remain detectable in your system. I don't recall off the top of my head but there were a few which stayed with you for as much as 9-10 months following last dose; anadrol was one I believe that stuck arround in the fatty tissues for months after last dose. If you don't find it here check the other boards or use a search engine and look for "steroid half life", and you should pull some usefull info.

1st they will ask you if you have a problem, then they will ask you to go under some counseling and as long as you said it wont happen again and it was just prohormones you will have to sign a waiver, you will be ok i was in the USMC and they had ppl popping piss test for pot and stay in the corps

Depends on his job / status, it's still a federal felony and cannot be overlooked. Feds dont take it lightly. Didn't use and DECA did you ?? That shit can stay in the blood for up to 18 months, dont know of a pro hormone that will do that.

the PH story works, i've used it before when suspected AAS use. was in marines for 7.5 years and during my last year i did a testprop/trenace/boldprop blend and blew up 32lbs in 8 weeks. they knew something was funny when i did a weight check in at 282lbs, max weight for my height was 208lbs, lol. the sgtmaj brought me in his office and asked what i was on, like he already knew something, just rattled of an assload of PH's, and that was the end of it. just keep a level head and stick to the PH story, you'll be fine.

They are kicking people out left and right at the moment due to too many in the force right now and are just waiting for people to slip up.. Keep to the pro-hormone story but now osi will be on you, your friends and any one you have been in contact with the last year even if you have been on leave they will check it out. It is a long process for them to investigate. If you have any thing in your house dispose of it now (pins, amp opener, anything) .. wish the best of luck to you bro
