excess skin?

as an adolesent i was the fat kid [210 lbs and 38% bf] but Ive been training hard for about 5-6 years now. I have good size and definiation all overe except my gut and my chest. My chest is a result of gyno from my teen years i havn't gotten rid of yet, however i can't figure out what the hell is goin on with my gut. No matter how i train, how well I diet or what supps I take I can't get mt abs to show. They are as strong as fuck [i do sets of 4x100 crunches in all varieties daily] and I can feel them under the skin, but it feels just like a thick layer of skin covering [hiding] them. Someone suggested it could be excess skin from my days as a lard ass. Does this sound right? If so, is their any way to get rid of it? K for the good stuff.

If it is excess skin, depending on how old you are, you likely will eventually re-absorb (for lack of a better term), the skin. As you get older the less likely you are to lose the excess skin.

In the interim, I'd suggest a SOLID cutting diet (see diet board for help) for about 12 weeks and gauge what happens to the "skin". If it indeed stays, no matter what, you have two options, wait it out and hope your body re-absorbs it (once again poor term), or get it removed surgically.

I hear alot of folks like that yohimburn stuff, but I have no experience with it.

Good luck.

I agree with griz. Your age will be a determining factor here. I had the exact same problem and, trust me, I completely feel your pain. I got to the point where the more I leaned out, the worse I looked because it only made the extra skin more apparent. I felt like I was somehow being punished for working out and taking care of myself for all these years.

I took what some would consider extreme measures to take care of it, but it's probably the best thing I've ever done for myself. Hopefully that won't be necessary for you.

I have this problem also and I was never fat, if anything I used to be skinny but since age 16 I started developping a bit of a belly and even when I feel I have loast fat % I still think I have either excess skin or just a protuding belly... it sucks, I am doing cardio, lifting weights, doing many different stomach exersizes including vacuums and still it stays there....

So I gotta spell it out huh.......okey dokey.

How to put this.....I paid a doctor a buttload of money to remove the excess skin and a nominal amount of fat, from the front and the sides.

However judging by your last post, I'd be very surprised if that was necessary for you. There is a vast difference between excess skin around the mid section, and a protruding belly. I mean, if you've never been fat, there's no way the skin could have stretched, so it's unlikely that you have an excess skin problem. Which leaves.....

would loove to give the yohimburn a go but sadly is not availaible in australia. next to impossible to get any 'gear' or worthwhile products here. would you say the surgery was worth the cash? I also got to look at surgery for gyno. Might as well go the whole hog.

Yohimburn will not help you. It works for guys who are basically lean but who have a little subcutaneous water going on. It does not melt bellies away or make excess skin just disappear. No product in the world will do that.

As for the surgery, it was worth every penny. However, there are several reasons why:

1. I did extensive reasearch on the subject.

2. I'd been working out and dieting for many years before even considering doing it. So I felt comfortable that I had tried every other means available.

3. I did not expect to come out of it looking like some sculpted Men's Fitness model.

I'll still probably never have visible abs, but I frankly don't care about that. I'm happy that I look a hell of a lot better than I did before.

My suggestion to you is to take the time to find a REPUTABLE surgeon and have a consultation. Many will do them for free, but even if they charge you I think it's worth the money.
