Hey SSS, I didn't know this board was here, guess I've spent too much time arguing politics lately.

I am 43 as of 29 Jan. I've been working out since I was a pre-teen and continue to get stronger and bigger, but slower too. As a 19-yr Career Army Officer I get to "keep up with the young folk" on a daily basis.

I've had some "firsts" since turning 40. My first boxing match came at 41. I've fathered two children since 40 (not firsts, but good to know the system still works. :) )

I recently signed up for some more boxing, the gym coach looked at me like I was crazy when I showed up.

Would like to do a triathlon someday.

Isn't amazing how we allow ourselves and other people to hold us back from being sucessful as we age? Like you get past your 20s and you're suddenly decrepid.

Don't let 'em scramble your brains too much in the ring though.

Triathalons are monster tough from what I've heard.

40 in two months.

Ok, all of you men and women over 40. Ok, men over 40 and all of you 39 year old women. ;)

Let's have a head count and some discussion!
48yrs still at it over 30yrs. I have terrible joint pain mostly knees and
shoulders if any younger guys see this "stay away from the real heavy
weight you will pay the price when you get older". BELIEVE ME I'M LIVING PROOF
FOR ALL OF THE MAXING OUT LIFTS. IT WEARS YOUR JOINTS OUT.

Going on 45 this October. I feel and look much better than when I was 35. Thankfully recovering from a pretty ruff past. Selective sponge...picking and choosing the information to soak up. Good to see that I am not the only one up there.

I totally understand where your coming from Vasc. Working out and eating right,I do feel/look a lot better than when I was younger. I'm 46(April) As far as my past,it's a wonder I have a brain left. Had elbow surgery last year and just had shoulder surgery in July. I've worked too hard to get where I am to quit now. I'll just have my doc keep putting me back together, Rock on!!

funny how we all think we will magically and completely change at 40 and life will just never be as fun or good. we will suddenly look and be all old, yet when it happens you find out it doesn't work out that way. :) we all turn 40. might as well be happy.

40 last august and just getting started....
