Even Americas richest men admit tax cut is for rich only

The Nature Boy said:

that may or may not be true. But I don't see welfare going away any time soon.

it wont. both sides depend on social programs to buy their votes and keep them in office.

the only conservative that has attempted to stay true to the idea of 'limited government' is tom delay, that i can think of.

no. it is about getting back what is YOURS!

did you know, that for every dollar put into the welfare system, only 28 cents go to an actual recipient? the other 72 cents are eaten up by all of the government workers handing out the cash.

so why do you take out your discust on the recipients of welfare rather than the ones handing out the cash and remember that they are there doing this no matter who's president.

someone said something about not cutting taxes for middle class and poor, you obviously are not either or you would be screaming for a tax cut which i am. it'll help me have more money in my pocket, getting back what's mine(p0ink's words) to spend and put into the economy plus help bring me up out of dept a little bit. why does it seem those who favor the rich often times forget that those who make less are less deserving of getting their money back as well? if there are going to be tax cuts make them for everyone.

matt, very good points made.

EX...Executive salaries have grown 400 times while companies keep deciding that massive layoffs are needed.

I'm surprised p0ink or someone who's into cutting and pasting stories didn't post up about the CEO of american airlines. That fucking prick had the nerve to make his employees take a pay cut for the sake of the company not going bankrupt, but meanwhile he gave himself a huge fucking bonus. He should have been beaten in the street like a dog.

what fucking planet are you living on?

the tax cut is for everyone! everyone, across the board, is going to get a tax cut. stop believing the fucking lies that are being fed to you by the left.

"tax cuts are only for the rich, and they cause deficits blah blah blah."

the 'rich' get more back, because they put more in. how does that not make sense to you?

how the fuck can they be responsible for the defecit? only 50 billion of bush's first tax cut has been implemented so far. so how the fuck can that be the sole reason for our defecits.

i wasnt pointing out my 'disgust' towards those on welfare. i was expressing my disgust in the amount of government waste.

just recently, there was a proposal in the house to cut government waste by 1%, and you should have seen the reacion! people from both sides went ape shit and were outraged.

The existence of welfare programs have staved off a second great depression. I don't think the government should be employer of last resort, but most of us are ignoring what would happen if we had a large class of indigent people.

The idea behind taxation is not to redistribute your money. it is to support teh infrastrucvture that allowsyou the opportunities to prosper.

The idea of wealthy people reinvesting and growing teh economy doesn't work as well as it is advertised, because rich people spend with less attention to cost. Higher margins = less into economy.

Lot of amateurs on this thread. Stop believing whatever an "expert" tells you and start thinking through these things on your own.

LOL no shit -

Further, I'm surprised people focus so much on welfare... I'm sure like anything there are a number of vivid case studies of welfare abuse, but I just read the other day that the average time spent on welfare is only 4 years...which isnt bad...as well as the fact that welfare accounts for a pretty small fraction of all taxed dollars.

I hear quotes like tossed around for government agencies AS WELL AS private corporations like health insurance. I have no reason to believe or disbelieve either.

The Republican agenda in the real world has been to squeeze the juice out of the unrich and give it to the rich. EX...Executive salaries have grown 400 times while companies keep deciding that massive layoffs are needed.

god, you are so gullible and blind it isnt even funny.

how can you, honestly, say that all of this corporate fraud reflects the 'republican agenda', when not only did all of these companies donate more to the democratic party, but the republican 'tax increases' (which werent increases in the first place) closed the loop-holes discovered during these scandals?

1. the planet zorflak

2. the left aren't spitting lies at me, i can tell you that i did'nt get a tax cut the last time and i won't this time. they are not for everyone, the majority of americans won;t see the tax cut because they don't make enough to be in the high brakcets. stop living in your fantasy world.

3. i did'nt say they were responsible for the deficit, though when reagan left office he did leave us with the largest deficit this country ever faced, sure he helped win the cold war but look at the price tag. and you blame democrats for spending money.

4. i'm all for decreasing government waste and spending and one way to stop that is for politicians to take a pay cut and stop getting money after their terms are up, get a real job like the tax payers and earn the money again.

what do you think the 'rich' will do with the money they get back? stuff it under their matress?

i never claimed to be an expert at economics, but the arguments i have put forth, are the ones that made the most sense to me.

i dont buy the idea that these tax cuts are for the rich only.

i dont believe that asking for more of *my* money back makes me 'selfish'.

i believe that the more people have in their pockets, the more they are likely to spend.
