What i really should do is stick with the religion i grew up with (which is all that ive ever known) and continue to blindly believe what i'm being told without question. So i believe one of the religions has everything figured out... and even better, believe the one i happen to believe in is exactly right, and all others are wrong.

And, yes, i do feel the same about politics. Instead of saying "i'm a republican" I say "there are things from all parties i agree and disagree with"... it's called having the ability to go beyond pre set social constructs and, using your beliefs and values, believe in what makes sense to you.

We're clearly getting nowhere but let me ask you this:

Distanced, how is it that you know the truth? Thousands of years and thousands of philosophers much, much smarter than you have never been able to reach a concensus... and yet, you know God's word? You've looked at every religion and objectively decided christianity is right... and that the bible, despite being written by men, with clearly political objectives (at times), is exactly correct?

I honestly think uber-religious people are some of the most arrogant people i know. They're right, everyone who thinks differently is wrong... oh, and they;re all going to hell too.

If this idea were true he'd have no idea what was going to come of us in the future.... God must know the future otherwise he is not God. God is by definition "all powerful"... what you're saying is putting limits on his power. That is not logical.

Yeah and didn't God make everything including time itself, or no? Therefore he should have total control over it.

If not, then who made time? I don;t even mean the label, I mean how all previous actions becmoe a unit of measurement.

Looking and looking objectively are 2 entirely different things. You didn't seem to answer my real question.

Obviously it's something called faith, but it's exceedingly weak minded to consider yourself right and everyone else wrong- especially when you havent taken a hard look at your beliefs and evaluated them logically. You must be pretty smart to have figured out what people for thousands of years have been pondering.
