Either God does not exist or there is no free will.

weak minded, actually I just view myself as having found the light, and you being someone who hopefully someday will see it to. It's kind of like seeing a shooting star, some see the same ones, some don't. the ones who don't see it might just get lucky on another night

LOL. Well i'd love to see the light. KNOW the truth... nothing would please me more. I'm not ruling out anything... all i know is how little i know... i try and give every new idea equal credence in my mind, and then make my decisions.

I know i could never get anywhere with you bro. Religion is such a core belief that almost no one is willing to change or re-evaluate it. The more central a belief is to one's personality the less likely it is that a person will change it.

Tahts why people say... never argue about politics or religion.

Hopefully i've made some people think... if even for a moment.

creation has never been disproven in any aspects ever. evolution has been disproven or 'corrected and updated' so many times it's a joke

These kinds of discussion are always fun until someone brings out the scissors and puts someone's eye out. Why can't people act normal and discuss things without either getting their feelings hurt, panties wadded, souls distended, hedgehogs fisted or any of the rest.

Personally, I really enjoyed reading those quotes that decem was putting in there. I didn't agree with all of them, but it's interesting to hear other's opinions. They don't scare me or threaten me. I can't figure out why they should. Agree to disagree, no harm, no foul. Is that so difficult? Good grief, you'd think people were all 11 years old.

I agree bro. I thought i responded to all well thought out posts w/out any personal attacks.

I don't find his opinions threatening, just disheartening.

Agreed. It's usually people who KNOW whatever opinion they hold. Obviously, we all hold our opinions because we firmly believe them to be true or we wouldn't hold them. And in the case of religion there is a huge emotional component that goes along with it, in addition to the gravity of the issue of an afterlife, etc., arguably the most important thing that there is, if you believe in that.

Personally, I do believe in that. But, if someone else doesn't, I feel no need to call them out and try to flip the game board over since they don't want to play the way I want them to. Coming from such a strong religious and spiritual background, I've always been puzzled by the insecurity that can be so interspersed with the fervor that those who have religious beliefs exhibit. This is supposed to be a source of strength and solace for us and certainly not a reason to go off on people and alienate them. And most certainly not exhibit mean spirited nastiness and intolerance, which from what I've read of the bible and I have read it cover to cover many times, is not what we are supposed to be garnering from it. It's just interesting I think. You don't see many more hateful type people than Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell, etc. on down, and they are supposed to be the representatives of God and God's teaching. Sad. I think I would take a different route on that, and try to.
