A decent amount of people have died on the train tracks here in Carlsbad, right in the touristy part of downtown, a block from the beach over the years. Yeah, the only trains we have around here are the sprinter which goes from the Oceanside pier east to Escondido and the Coaster which goes from downtown SD to OC/LA along the coastline. Two of us got sent to pick his family up from the LAX and escort them to their room in SD (not sure why the Corps didn't fly them there) where he was staying at Balboa. Odd little drive. Basically an hour of me trying to keep conversation casual and not laugh at how fucking stupid you'd have to be to get drunk and play chicken with a train.

I've ridden the one that takes you to the north county mall, not sure which that is. It fucking hauls ass. Every time I went to SD I used a shuttle or drove, so idk about that one

Ok your a dr you have five patients one needs a liver, one a heart, one a kidney, another bone marrow, last a gal bladder. With out these things they all die. You have another healthy patient happens to be a match to all of theses things. Do you kill him to save the others?

If that was the case the government could take any healthy person against their will, kill them, then distribute all their organs so that multiple others may life. But we dont do that because of human rights or civil rights infringement and the hippocratic oath. It is not the responsibility of the healthy to be sacrificed for the terminally ill, as the healthy did not cause the problems of the ill so they bear no punishment for them.

Did the man standing by him self do anything to deserve his life being taken to save the other 5? NO he did not did he. Hell who knows just maybe that one man was famous Doctor/scientist who would have went on to find the cure for AIDS or something like that... Now what? you just sentenced millions to death for decades to come.. He has just as much of a right to live as the others do and I would not stand in as god or what ever and make the choice of taking his life over others.

I am not the universe, mother earth, god or Jesus. If faced with the choice to take one persons life to save others I would not choice because its not my choice to make . Unless its a personal act of heroism in which I am giving my own life to save the lives of others.

Why do these people not realize a trolley car is hurtling at them with no intention of stopping while the driver is sounding an alarm while at least some of the passengers are probably trying to get their attention?

Maybe killing the five and keeping them from reproducing would benefit humanity because they wouldn't pass on their defective "I can't hear or see a large object hurtling toward me while people are screaming a warning" gene?
