The US has been on the edge of an economic collapse since the 1970's.
The end of the gold standard, the loss of the American competitive advantage, and numerous other factors are going to spell doom for this nation.
It is just a matter of time.
Just look at it this way in simple terms. How can a nation that has a 75% high school graduation rate (which is continually going down) compete with nations like Germany and Japan that have rates 90% or higher? It can't.

i don't know about the 75%/90% thing but i do know that our educational system is all-inclusive and can not (without significant normalization of the numbers) be compared to countries (like germany and japan) where the caste system is alive and well. . .where kids are stratified at a very early age. . .our all-inclusive system can not be compared to their top 2% of students that are in the highest (i.e., college-bound) strata. . .that's purposeful misuse of statistics that is aimed at supporting the bullshit propoganda that is perpetuated by the fucking liberal media et al. . .in fact, with our "no child left behind" program, the gap now seems even wider but, our system includes everyone and theirs does not. . .that is a fact. . .

Standard of Living has been going down for years now. Go blame your govt for that. As for USA dying - far from it. Rich people still exist here cuz it's the best country to spend yoru welath. And we still have TONS of hot chicks partying it up every weekend. They're not worried.

currency bro, got to think about the dollar, what happends when it's not worth 25 cents?...... one dollar is sitting at about 70 pennies right now and going down while everyting else is going up. it doesnt matter how much money you have when your money isnt worth anything.....now if you have a lot of assets, gold and silver then it's a different story.....

I give some of the blame to the government.
I blame the sick, lame and lazy Americans too. Every time I drive through Norfolk I see too many people drunk, hanging out, doing nothing etc. 75% of Americans don't graduate high school. Something like 43 million are "disabled." The strong are paying for the weak and the weak are growing in numbers.

Well. I'm glad I live out in the sticks, have 450 pounds of rice, and automatics. A wood stove and a few neighbors that know what I know. With wind and solar power I'll be munchin on a bowl of rice watching TV in a warm house laughing my ass of at all of the idiots that won't even click on a thread with a title like this one.
