Eating/Drinking Lots of Whey

Sigh. I'm getting really tired of eating chicken/turkey etc. Eating lean proteins in every meal realy makes the entire taste of chicken get old. So I've started to rely alot, probably too much, on whey shakes(which are delicious).

And I have read/heard that it is better to eat lean proteins from chicken breasts etc rather then just consuming alot of whey. So I decided to get some opinions here.

What do you guys think about getting a majority of your protein from whey?

Edit: Definitely meant to put this in the nutrition forum..

I don't think it is necessarily a good idea but if you get the right balance of macronutrients I don't think it is a horrible idea either. The more important thing is consuming the right macronutrients at the right time. I think the "when" is overlooked.

I went through a phase once of getting a lot of my protein from meal replacements. You can get just as tired of drinking them as you are now of food. In a comparison, whole food is the winner- better growth and better general health.

need2's link is on the money. It's a replacement but not a substitute.

Lot's of ideas is the Muscle Foods forum for making things less boring. If you're like me and don't always have time/sometimes lazy you'll be surprised what a little hot sauce or some spice (which you can also buy in capsules as supplements) will do.

good thoughts bro.

does anybody have a link to any studies done on this to see if whole food protein is better than meal replacement/whey shakes?

I have gone through lazy periods b4 when I have been eating oats + whey/casein mix several times a day (i love this with cinnanom).

I can't say I notice any difference in energy levels or body composition than normal balanced diet.

However, clearly its not as healthy in the long run.

If your going to do this, make sure you have at least 1 big salad meal. I was still probably getting 700 grams of fiberous veggies for dinner during this period.

I doubt there are an studies on this - most things in bodybuilding are "bro science"
