true there is new peeps to replace the old, but overall on c&c the overall participation is down...there used to be a lot more activity
 
people always come and go and the board goes through fast and slow times.

you know i've been here for some time
5 yrs and counting
i've never seen it this slow before...normally the first page is new threads in the am, hasn't been so this last few weeks.
est vets i'm not seeing as much around here...sure there are tons of cool noobs like jon/cal/kano etc, but noobs rarely stick it out.
1/5 noobs is in it for the long haul

agreed. . .it's something of a curiosity to me as well. . .a couple of the other boards that were becoming pretty popular were sacked by "raw deal". . .i figured things would pick up quite a bit as a result of that, but they really haven't :confused:

People have been saying EF was dying at least once per month since 2003. Traffic has just gotten better since then.

who cares its just another spin off board. I had the best one of them all and even that is dead now. More so because I just got rid of it but they all suck. They are fun for a wile though. Good drama but thats it.
 
Spin off boards serve their purpose. But they are flawed at the core and die eventually...

The funniest part is watching people who think the spin off board will be the next big thing. They feel so sure the forum will be a hit that they go really hard in criticizing EF and talking about how bad this place sucks. Only to come back here months later after their little forum dies. I see them posting here and engaging me in conversation like they never had choice words for me... LOL pretty petty and funny if you ask me.

anyway, I said "Happy Birthday Lumberg" one day, since I knew he posted there more frequently than here.

Almost immediately someone said something like "You have us confused with EF Chat, we don't give a fuck about birthdays here"

I have posted at spin off boards myself. Mostly to bash members in ways I couldn't do here. Its interesting though, I bring them more traffic and activity just with my presence alone. People want to engage me out of this controlled setting, they get more than they can handle though. I can be quite harsh at times. Ask needto.

Then, just out of morbid curiosity, this new person will register at EF, so they can see for themselves what those other guys were talking about... There is a very good chance once they come here, they will never leave... And if they do, it will be to keep talking about EF thus repeating the cycle.


If people are not talking about you. You aren't doing anything worth being talked about.

LOL fucking big rick was smashing some members on my old board. I loved the fact that brr showed up to post. It shows a lot. I mean How many spin off boards dos brr show up to. Brr stepped out of his admen role and just had str8 up fun fucking with people. The board gave a great place for people to just throw down and get things out in the open. Bash the fuck out of each other, talk shit, Get things off there chest. I think boards like that are needed every now and then. People that have the most to hide hate them the most. Boards like that are fun for a wile but thats it.

Ulter's board is hardly a spinoff though. It's been around since 2000 with a very loyal core. Not as much traffic as EF, but not nearly as many noobs.

EF is always ripe with newbz.


I am at a few other boards, mostly reading, rarely posting. Those boards I actually still learn things from too, and I don't recall seeing anyone ever ask if they can drink winny.. :rolleyes:

I missed out I guess. On your board and hammy's and bb's, and a few others probably. Guess I'm not in the "in" crowd either. Of course, I have only lately been posting regularly again after a few years of sparse posting (thanks to a slow industry). I imagine I'll get busy again one day and not be here as much. Not that many of you will notice, but I like flying low like that - esp. on a joose board!
