Well.....good.......

But I skim coated the basement walls with mortar mix to fix the crumbling of the coating that was there.....Now I want to paint it....

I guess I'll wait a while to see if it dries any more....

It might continue to crumble if you didn't get all of the old crap off. You should wait a couple of days to paint it so the moisture from the mix won't screw your paint up. Don't use latex. Use an oil-based primer and then paint.
Where do you live? I'll do it for you in memory of your kitty who just crossed the bridge. That thread just killed me. What a sweet cat.

Awwww....that's a sweet offer....

The pain is the Ug-ly waterproofing sealer paint & it is latex.... oh well....

hang on, in my experience you do not paint concrete unless you have first sealed it, and then let the sealer dry for 24 hours at least...

why dont you call the paint store jen, since if youre using an oil based paint (acrylic should be ok) theres a reasonable chance youll be repainting it sooner than youd like to

It's actually a waterproofing paint -- so you don't seal the walls 1st since the paint is actually the sealer itself....

I'm letting it dry longer -- my excuse to be lazy....
