Does anybody work in trades? (welding, construction, mechanic, etc...)

the mod screening process should be more thorough, surely this is not who should represent EF, which has quite a few blue collar bros.
and not surprizing, dude is a flaming democrat!! i thought only GOP'ers where so mean and arrogant

I'm sensing we have a $9/hour millionaire on our hands.

I make about 70k a year. I'll work my way up to making 100k a year in the next 4-5 years. You think I can make more getting into a trade?
Dude.. work sucks. if you're at 70k and moving to a 100k in the next 4-5, stay on that path. There is no point in changing careers and starting off at the ass end of the pay scale to move up. You're reasonably young, and if you can make your money work for you, you'll be in good shape.

There's nothing wrong with learning a trade. It's useful, fix your own shit when it breaks and maybe a couple other peoples on the side for extra cash..cool do that. But don't backtrack yourself. Even the best jobs out there suck, cause they are jobs. Make your money now and drudge through the bullshit.

The only way you'd out earn yourself in a trade is if you logged crazy OT (not worth it to work yourself into the ground) or learned on the side and eventually opened up a business provided you had a good market to work with and the business experience to not handcuff yourself.

You could if you came out west and were willing to go do camp jobs up north through the winter but it's not a very family friendly/ social lifestyle.

It's not just about money. I am pretty savvy and intelligent and can work my way up to 150k if I realy wanted to. I just want to be able to do something I enjoy doing. There is more to life than money.

Correct. There is also wimminz and drugs. But those come easier if you have money.

That is true. I doubt very many people think on their deathbed "I wish I made more money and had more shit" and any person you have to buy to have in your life isn't worth keeping in your life anyway...
