do you believe in god?

I believe there is more to existance than that which our usual five senses reports back to us.

Me too... I just have an issue with ALL organized religion.

I was raised Magyar Reformed (protestant); wen to church every sunday till I met my exhusband at barely 21. Attended Catholic high school = four years of Catholic religion classes and took some religion classes in college as I found the topic of religion fascinating. I dabbled a bit with paganism (if that is the right word) but never really put the time into proper study to practise. Perhaps someday I will. I'm not sure.

I would like to practise SOME sort of religion, but I just haven't found one that isn't complicated or hypocritical.

My faith, though, is VERY strong.

I believe in the spiritual world. I believe in the one dwelling far away from our understanding. So, I am not trying to "find" him/her/it, he/she/it is not lost  I just try to live my life with as much understanding for the religions as possible and I am not throwing my own beliefs out there. If someone asks me, I answer and explain and thats it. Its up to our own selfs, up to our own awareness to try to find our truth and live the best life that we can

Paganism is the right word. There's a lot to study, in some ways, or nothing to study at all.

Look into Unitarian Universalism, they're sort of the democracy of religions:

Organized, but open.

Thanks MM.... I am feeling the need for order and ritual in my life as I have ZERO.

I don't feel the need to ask any diety for help per se (I think that is hypocritical. Every one only seems to remember *God* when they are having a tough time and conveniently forget when everything is hunky-dory - I dont roll that way). I just want some order. Does that make any sense?

Makes complete sense, that's one of the reasons why my husband and I found a coven in a wiccan tradition that works for us. Based quite a bit on the Theosophist's society mindset, relatively structured, but open to a lot of different spiritual beliefs. There are a LOT of pagans that are very militant and just bash Christians or all organized religious beliefs.

It's all about balance, finding something to keep your life/heart/head on an even keel. Wicca's nice because it's got holidays spaced throughout the year that actually mark seasonal events/times.

Atheist.

No evidence to believe that the universe was designed or created, for as magnificent as it is, its full of flaws an inefficiencies (Christians will tell you it was perfect until flawed man sinned and ruined it all, before that animals all lived in harmony!).

Also, if you believe there is a God, then who created that god? How was HE designed, how did HE come into existence?

Qabala answers all this shit.

But basically the Universe is self aware, seriously. The spaces in between the molecules, the Zero Point Field that quantum physicists have only just learned to recognize, is apparently the recording medium of the Universe's memory and everything that is, was, or ever will be is a part of the Universe's sensory organs and learning experiences, and those experiences are recorded in the zero point field.

Life, in all its forms, is the Universe's attempt at learning about Itself on the most base level, so to speak.

But if atheism makes you happy, that's okay too :qt:

atheism doesn't rule out the possiblity that the universe works in ways we do not comprehend or know about yet, it simply states that there is no reason for me to believe that there is one deity or being that presides over all of the known and unknown universe.
