do you always have to be right?

read my example and tell me how you would have handled the situation?

"sorry dude, you are wrong"

or "it just didnt happen taht way"

what line do you use, that doesnt cause them to say something back? or they say "your an idiot and blah blah" say like 2 or 3 untrue things, you just say "okay yeah" or nothing at all to shut them up?

and let them think they are right? hmmm that doesnt EVER work. guess im not hot enough :(

Something like that?

"Ok, sure."

It's really not worth my time to be "right." I mean, in the long run, who the eff cares? being "right" is a silly thing to dwell on and a good way to waste time with loved ones.

so i can just say "okay sure" and ignore it? it sounds so easy but for some reason i always think i can just explain it to my friend and everything be cool.

i guess i get guilted to easy and worry too much about being a dick. people used to always say i was a huge dick (when i used to handle things that way), but i definately think i got more respect, and now that im trying to be a nicer guy, and not be a dick i find myself in more confrontations, its weird.

I get the temptation to "explain," too, believe me. It just isn't worth it to me in most cases. But we all deal with that differently.

how do you deal with it, is the topic of the thread :)

i personally end up arguging untill i piss the person off (even though im probably more pissed becuase im being wronged), or i just shrug it off but still say stuff to try and make the person feel like shit for being wrong and a douche.

sometimes im like "i dont care" but then they keep on arguging their incorrect bullshit.

it really pisses me off when its so obvious someone is wrong and they have to be mentally retarded to think/imagine what they are to the point that im not sure if they are trying to trick me or not, so i have to argue just incase

Just in case. LMAO!!!!!!!

unfortunately yes, I always have to be right.

LOL. I noticed that... I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong and I think arguing with people is a waste of energy and time.

Btw, the above post was a factual statement and if you say otherwise, you are full of shit.

agree.

SubZ - point is, if you're right and you know you're right, who gives a crap if the other person agrees or if you can convince them that they are wrong and you are right. how often does that technique actually work?

it doesnt matter - ias long as you know the "truth". if they dont agree, you can just go on your way knowing they are being a dumbass. end of story.

and lol @ snowball fight in Chipotle. if you're doinig that then neither of you are very rational in that situation.

I like to discuss/debate sometimes to gain other perspectives. Most arguments are a matter of opinion anyway and there really is no right or wrong. I will listen to and appreciate another opinion or perspective but can also agree to disagree. If I'm wrong about something, I'll admit it.
