Do I have a right to be pissed off in this scenario?

I believe I do, but I like to hear outside opinions to make sure I don't have tunnel vision. (LONG POST WARNING, Cliff notes at bottom)

I did a favor for my most recent Ex GF by picking her up at the airport because she was flying back from Brazil to come back here, and pack the rest of her stuff (she's moving back). I felt bad because her dad passed away, and her cat is sick so I volunteered to pick her up. Note, it was 2 and a half hours away. so 5 hours round trip. The weather was also extremely shitty

so anyways, I get there and park and head over to baggage claim. I see her and walk towards her. As soon as I get to her she squints her eyes with a wtf face and extends her hand in my direction and says in a very condescending tone "what did you do to yourself?. Are you serious? You look weird". Referring to the fact I shaved my head.And it wasn't oh it's weird to see you like that. it was implied that *I* looked weird.

No hi, no hello, no hug. That was the first thing she said. I haven't seen her in 4 months. I took her sick cat to the vet a few weeks ago, and got stuck with teh bill. she was supposed to pay me back, but i wasn't going to hound her knowing all the shit she's dealing with right now because of her dad's death. I didn't mind, but I did expect a little courtesy if i'm doing her favors.

Needless to say, i was fuckin pissed. But i kept my mouth shut because i didn't want to cause a scene. So i was very quiet the way home and just gave her very brief responses when she would talk to me. She brought up the hair thing AGAIN, and then started criticizing me saying i looked so much better with hair and that i don't have the shape for it etc. I got defensive and a bit nasty with her and said nothing the whole way back. she tried to be nice to me again when we got there and asked me to come inside etc but i was very emphatic about leaving. Got a little loud with each other and I left



CLIFF NOTES:

-I get there and she insults me in a bitchy tone and my new haircut before even saying hello
-I bite my tongue and stay quiet almost the whole ride even though i'm fuming she'd be so rude
-she brings it up again in the car, and we argue.
-i drop her off, she acts like she did nothing wrong and we yell at each other before i leave

wasn't as long as i thought it would be lol.

i left out that she wrote me an email today (2 days later) attempting to apologize. but it was one of those "i'm sorry i hurt your feelings but <excuse> <excuse> <excuse>". Basically the entire email was her trying to rationalize her actions, saying she was joking, and not just admitting she was rude. I wrote her back basically saying what I just said, and let her know that it was unacecptable to act like a bitch in that situation. she wrote back saying "im throwing the favors in her face and expect something". yes, i expect common courtesy. I'm done talking to her though. it's not worth my energy trying to make her accountable
 
Dude I'd be pissed too. But, I suppose it's a good thing she's your ex. Now you can just write her off and move on. She doesn't deserve your friendship or favors.
 
Knot to defend her, butt if she was close to her dad, she maybe still fucked up from the loss.

I've been told by other people that it looks good. and i think it looks good. i have a little bump/slope towards the back of my head but most people don't have a perfectly symmetrical skull. she said it makes my ears stick out lol (it kinda does, but not bad)

Although when i saw her, i had JUST Biced my head and it doesn't look that good until a day or two after (i'm not tan right now). It looks good with a little stubble

Dude, regardless, even if she thought it looked like shit, she should have had the courtesty and consideration to greet you, since you were doing her a huge favor that you had zero obligation to do. She could have either said nothing about your head or just said, hey you shaved your head. She should have kept her negative comments to herself. Just rude that's all.
 
Yep I'd be pissed. If she really thought it looked wrong for you there are much better ways to say it. No need to be rude.
 
Basaed purely on your post here, it seems like she has the upper hand in this relationship which is probably why she felt comfortable enough/entitled to be blatantly rude to you. It makes me think she doesn't respect you. Drop her like a bad attitude.

he's had cancer for over a year and a half. her dad was also an asshole to her. Wouldn't pay for her last semester at school so she could graduate.

guess who did though? yeah, me

he also had an estranged family that was unknown till recently. but even despite that, she still does care because it's her dad.

no, she didn't at all. I broke up with her like 3 or 4 times and a couple of those times she practically came back begging.

but regardless, you're right and i'm glad i'm not crazy thinking that was unacceptable. just wanted to make sure

also agree that she could have said it in a nicer way. i mentioned that also in my email

A. As mentioned, you're right. Your ex was being a bitch and it's a good thing you broke up with that. Her not owning up to being rude is even worse than being rude.

And B. If it took 2 and a half hours to get to the airport, I'm guessing you were at the Tampa or Orlando airport, in which case you prob should've just tossed her to the curb and visited me instead. That's the obvious choice. Lol

b) She just traveled, which sucks. She's going through some shit.

c) You're her ex and she'll still be snippy to you for whatever reason.

d) Shaving your head as close as it can be shaved can be a shock to people. I always had mine buzzed shaved, but when I took the razor to it I had strong reactions from some people and I felt self conscious.

e) She's your ex. Who fucking cares? Feed her cat to a snake and let her dad pick her up next time.

Eh. Already past that point. Already told her I didn't want to speak to her after a testy email exchange The fact she couldn't own up to it was the last straw.

And sex with an ex never leads to anything positive usually. Besides, it wouldn't matter anyways because she isn't going to be able to visit often. Maybe one every two years or something.

I think this is the beat response and is exactly what I would have done. She was obviously mind fucking you successfully and you let it happen. You should have used those 2.5hrs in the car to turn her into a sobbing, defiled shamed little girl.
 
Sounds like she was putting her guard up to you right away, possibly felt overwhelmed by your hospitality and thinking you had motives
