dextrose/maltodextrose question

iv been taking malto throughout the day with protein as a meal replacement....so this will lead to growing my gut? it seems to give good energy. Im looking for an easy meal replacement throughout the day and sometimes the MRP's are just too hard to take down! but u guys are saying to stay away from malto unless its postworkout?
 
If you are taking it 'throughout the day' then your body is going to go on a bit of a rollercoaster ride. My earlier post was just if you needed a quick source of energy prior to working out. But as the other guys have said, it is more suited for post-workouts to re-establish your glycogen levels which will be depleated or lessened during the workout.

As to your Meal Replacements ... if you are finding it hard to consume then split the contents up into manageable portions. Gradually increase the portion size over the weeks until you have no trouble consuming a full serving. Alot of guys have trouble choking those things down. If it isn't the taste then it is usually the shock to your system which prevents you from doing so. Just take your time.
