I've always wanted a true GTI with the VR6 motor...
The 1.8T aren't bad, but Turbos with the lag just don't drive or sound the same as that V6.

GTI's are awesome fun cars to drive, even stock.. Like a Go Kart on corners
Anything over the stock 17'' looks silly on them though IMO.

i personally think the 18's fit perfect. minimal wheel gap.

i hear ya on the lag part of it

i added a chip, diverter valve, and a cold air intake. helped out alot.

Same color as mine, except cleaner. (you guys are shaming me) We left it totally stock looking. Only external cue is the tips coming out of the 3.75" exhaust the engine needs.
