True, but satisfaction is hard to come by when they are too stupid to understand sarcasm.Scotsman said:If you can't have fun while making others go awa and/or feel inferior than you just aren't doing it right.

Damn you Scots, I was playing MTW II and Scotland declared war for no reason, damned rabble rousers. I was about to conquer Scotland but the fucking Pope threatened me with excommunication for waging war on Christians.Scotsman said:If you can't have fun while making others go awa and/or feel inferior than you just aren't doing it right.

The learning curve is huge.....a lot more depth all around, especially in diplomacy and combat....much better. The pope excommunicated the HRE and I've been fighting a huge war with them for the last 21 turns.....I'm Denmark.needtogetaas said:I want that fucking game now....

It's fun as hell to watch huscarls launch themselves onto a wall from a siege tower....
I think the Battle of Hastings is the demo...the graphics are amazing and it has 10X more strategic depth than the original as well as more detail in tactical commands. You can order "special formations" like horse archers circling the enemy and pelting them with arrows.needtogetaas said:nice

intellectualization IS actually a defense mechanism.
Scotsman said:Yes intellectualization is part of a defense mechanism. HAVING a superior intellect is not it only enables you do to things on a higher level.
Fucking randoms is a coping method because you are using to make yourself feel better about your life/situation.
And Don't even begin to trust wikipedia as anyone can add to a definition on there.
Although if you read the definitions it does back up my points.
So thanks for playing.

BIKINIMOM said:OK so me using defense mechanisms to cope, does that make me more or less intelligent by definition? ....the whole conversation is somewhat confusing to me.
Scotsman said:It's not how you use them but what sort of mechanisms you develop that help define intelligence. Many defense and coping mechanisms share the same traits like withdrawl. A defense mechanism is used to shield yourself from others. It is used to keep people away and out of "you". A coping mechanism is used to deal with a problem whether internal or external. It is used to alleviate stress and emotional trauma.
Perfect examples from my life:
DM- I use sarcasm to make others disinterested in me by making them feel unwelcome and not giving a straight answer.
CM- I withdraw and listen to sad music in order to gain perspective.
So as to it defining your intelligence it really doesn't, but the methods used typically become more complex for more "intelligent" people.

gonelifting said:WTF are we talking about here?! "wolves"? That's a broad spectrum of people and issues. Depends on the situation at hand. Personally, I have no time for BS drama so it's just "NEXT!" and I get on with my life.
Why do you want to "deal" with it? Presumably to make yourself feel better, ultimately. Well, I feel much better after "NEXT!" have a good life.
The above is only valid if you are truly honest with yourself and never waver from being true to yourself. It is a difficult road to travel, but if you can do it, you will walk the Zen life.
There will ALWAYS be fucked up people trying to bring you down. ALWAYS. No time for that shit.
