Let's go over this again. They are not Metal. Never was, never will be. Playing heavy sounding FUNK music while their singer barks like a football player into a mic is NOT Metal. As far as legends, Iron Maiden are legends. Fagtera are just MTV bullshit for the wannabe Metalheads who know jack about Metal.

A few years ago they used to play the shit on MTV, and still play it on MTV2 quite a bit I hear. Not to mention bands like Slipknot which is pretty much the same stuff.

The fans support the bands. The fans make the bands. The fans decide what is and what is not metal.

MTV forces crap down peoples throats that they call metal, rap, subgenre x,y,z, whatever. Those in the underground play by different rules.

So, yes, WE decide what's metal. And you will find few arguments among true metalheads across the globe about what is and is not metal.

There is only a fine line between "metal" and "nonmetal" in the popular radio MTV scene. There is no such line in the metal scene. Something is metal, or it is not. Quite simple. Metal and nonmetal never gets argued until a trendy, radio listening, MTV watching, nonmetal person butts in and starts in on something he is not a part of (no offence).

Just because they are somewhat popular does not alter the fact that they have heavy, detuned, distorted riffs and a shitload of screaming.

They may not be as extreme (i.e. shitty) as the death bands, but make no mistake... they are metal.
