I am 5'8' 195lbs on an empty stomach in the morning with my BF % around 11%. I've been cutting for around 8 weeks where I started at about 210lbs at 15% BF. My goal is to fight at 185lbs but I'm hitting some serious sticking points right now where I can't seem to break the 195lb barrier.
I train six days a week doing 60 min cardio (between 60 to 70% MHR) every morning on an empty stomach to try to lower body fat. On Mon-Wed- Fri in the afternoon I do striking and grappling for around 2hrs and conclude with 20 min cardio afterwards. On Tues-Thurs-Sat I weight train at a highly intense level focusing on compound movements for power and strength for around 60min and conclude with 20 min cardio.
I Have cut my carbs to around 150 grams per day and my overall caloric intake to around 2100. I am using Fina to ensure muscle retention and strength preservation during this process. I'm about 4 weeks out from my fight. My question is, is it ok to go into a fight 10lbs over a couple of days out and rely upon shedding water weight for the fight or should I try to lose more weight? I would greatly appreciate any input from anyone who has experience in this field.
Thankx,
- Magus
