Critique my bulking diet

[HHH]the Game

New member
meal 1: whey shake, banana

meal 2: bowl of oatmeal, yoghurt

meal 3: 8 egg omelette (2 yolks)

meal 4: 2 tuna sandwhiches

meal 5: pasta, potatoes, salad

meal 6: whey shake, 350g steak

meal 7: 300g chicken breast, brown rice

meal 8: cottage cheese, fruit

I'm looking to bulk up as much as possible. I figured to simply eat just as much as I could for each serving in each meal.

First off, when posting like this some stats would be good.

What is you current Height, Weight, age etc.

Looking at this, what is the total Calories and the P/C/F breakdown.

At a quick glance the Protein looks good, but you need some Veggies in there.

Get more protein in there, preferably steak, chicken or tuna. Meals 2 and 5 especially, but more protein in general

I am 6'2, 195 pounds (not sure what body fat is but i know it is low), 30 years old.

As much as I have researched I still do not know enough to estimate the protein, carbs, fat breakdown. I have searched many bulking diet threads and paid close attention to the main bulking foods and then combined that with the fact that I work in a restaurant and kept in mind the foods that are available to me. I felt this would be the most realistic way to plan my diet.

300g of chicken and 350g of steak every day is not enough?

How much steak can one consume every day without risk to health? I love steak and we have shitloads of it. I'd like to eat as much steak as possible.

If you are serious about bulking

Your carbs are low. I am looking at about 250 grams in this menu, based on average portions (you didn't specify how much of each food). At your weight, you should be eating about 3500 - 4000 cal per day for bulking. 500/250/100 (C/P/F) would put you at 3900 calories. If you really want to bulk, you need this much food.

HHH, some basic suggestions:
- for serious bulking consume at least 18 x bodyweight in calories each day
(18 x 195lbs = 3510 calories /day)
- consume at least 1.5 grams protein for each pound of bodyweight
(1.5 x 195lbs = 293 grams protein/day)

You do have a lot of protein in your diet but I'd suggest spreading more evenly
through the day. I'd also suggest more carbs and add some vegetable to your high
protein meals (chicken and steak) to increase absorption efficiency.

Overall your diet looks pretty good. Some small suggestions below:

meal 1: whey shake, banana
> add some carbs (oatmeal, rye bread etc)
meal 2: bowl of oatmeal, yoghurt

meal 3: 8 egg omelette (2 yolks)
> add some carbs
meal 4: 2 tuna sandwhiches
> add some vegetables or salad
meal 5: pasta, potatoes, salad
> add some protein (take some from meal 6?)
meal 6: whey shake, 350g steak
> too much protein; add some carbs and vegetables
meal 7: 300g chicken breast, brown rice
> add some vegetables
meal 8: cottage cheese, fruit

Last thought - you don't indicate when you workout. Assuming it's in the late afternoon
or evening, you should have a moderate size, balanced carb-protein meal about 90 min
before your workout. (meal 5?). Your postworkout meals should have a large proportion
of your daily carbs (up to 50%).

Hope this helps.
