CPA "prep" courses

Since I am an accounting major now, I will be sitting for the CPA exam later and heard its a bitch. Given this information, I wanted opinions on the best way to prep for these exams, and if any of those CPA prep courses (either live classroom prep, or materials ordered) are worth paying for. thanks robs.

I've taken the Becker course. It is very useful. Yes, the exam is a bitch. I haven't passed it.

Just passed all parts this past summer!!! I used Lambers DVD course. Cost a little over a grand...but well worth it. I can only recommend for you to dedicate your life to each part....well worth it when you pass it.

I've read about lambers course. Did you have any problem keeping yourself to a shedule?

Because back in the dark ages when I took becker it was easy due to the class room setup to keep myself focused.

Naa...just had to discipline your self to the course. I tried to block off at least 2 hours a night for 4 nights a week & 6 hours on the weekend. I liked the course....& on a good note, if you do fail a part, they will send you updated material on that part free of charge.

I tried doing only the books...& struck out. The DVD course helped me immensely
