Couture VS. Lesnar

The question is; Does Brock stand a chance?
 
i asked my buddy back home what he thought of that match. . .he wrestled in the army and was a world champion heavyweight in sambo (a submission type of wrestling). . .randy was his roommate. . .they traveled all over the world wrestling for the army and they grappled regularly in practice. . .his take?? randy will destroy him. i asked why. he said "you can only have one master". . .this type of fighting is what randy is all about. . .and he's been doing it for a long time. . .after his impressive ncaa career, brock spent a lot of years as an "entertainer". . .no contest.

me?? i don't know. brock is extremely strong and did have a long and impressive career as a freestyle wrestler. we'll see.
 
i think brocks going to win..the fuckers powerful...fists as big as the other persons haed .. haha..but then again couture is proven and is one of the best fighters still in the game.. soo its hard..but i think ill go with lesnar.. but then again...lesnar has no ground game at all.. unless its beat the fuck outta the person on the ground.. couture i think will have to submit him to win.
 
If Brock doesn't finish it in the first round he's done. Randy is way too good at the longer strategy and can still pull out a great effort in the 5th round.

I expect Brock to come out full intensity and try to take Randy out fast and hard because he knows he is way more powerful and can use that. If he takes him to the ground he can literally lie on him for five rounds and squash him.

I think that's the gameplan...Brock will have to take Randy down, squash him against the fence to take away his mobility and minimize the chance of Randy getting a sub from the bottom, and then pound away on him.
 
Brock p'wned Health like a little kid.

He will p'wn "The Natural" with the greatest of ease.
 
anybody watch ufc all access? wow that girl was fucking gorgeous that followed couture around haha... couture looks lkes hes in good shape...its going to be a good fight...

i predict..second round knock out for.. lesnar
 
i only see couture winning if he can submit, brock needs more time to get his ground game in check. i'm rooting for lesnar even though i see it a long shot.
 
Brock will knock Coutur out in round 2.

Brute strength, reach advantage, solid striking, he's been working on his takedown defense, he's a pro wrestler, he's a big mofo, ground and pound is amazing...only way for couture to win is by leg submissions like Mir (sp?) did...not couture's style IMO, so I think Couture MAY give him trouble, but he's too old and haven't felt the heat of fighting for a while to stand a chance against a beast like Lestner.

I'm going with Randy with a late KO. I think Randy has problems fighting off of his back, so it is somewhat likely that Brock will be able to lay on him for a victory.

I don't really care bro...it's not like Lestner's win will pay off my mortgage...

I just hink he's been working hard and he's an underdog, so he deserves to win.

This one's a tough call. I'll say this though......if the Randy Couture shows up that beat Gonzaga, Lesnar is in trouble. It all depends on Randys condition and what the time off and the contract dispute did to his drive. In one respect I do think Lesnar is totally underestimating Couture's strength. When Randy say's he's stronger now than he was 10 years ago, I beleive him. Lesnar mocked that, but I think he's viewing things from a "weight room" perspective and not taking into account Randy's "field strength". All of the football bro's know that there were guys they played with that never did anything spectacular in the weight room, but were beasts out on the field. That's Randy Couture. And if he shows up like he did against Gonzaga, we may see lesnar on his back quick. Randy does not stand off, like Herring did. Herring stood in Lesnar's wheelhouse cause he was scared of Brock taking him down. Couture is not scared of that, so he's gonna be up in Brocks grill. A big deal was made about that shot he put on herring.....but he stood off and threw a haymaker with his whole body.....of course he's gonna fuck something up when he hits like that. Any dood weight that much is going to do damage when he throws a bomb. He won't hit Randy with that when Randy is sitting right infront of him. This is going to be a really really really good fight, no matter which way it goes.

I hope, these fights can many different ways. I'm a boxing fan at heart, but there aren't the same fights to watch for boxing anymore.
These fights can last 8 seconds or just be two guys rolling around on the ground... or just laying in the same position for awhile. Hopefully there's some good striking and the fight lastes more than a minute.
 
That was exciting, Brock has gotten alot better... way more patient.
He has to avenge his one loss now.
 
I could do without Joe Rogan's screechy voice, otherwise he's good but an announcer he should be not!
 
Let's not pronounce him the next big thing because he beat a 400 year old guy who's been virtually retired.

He beat a "champ" who's in his mid 40s, has been training like an animal, has said that he is in the best shape of his life and that he's going to win without a doubt.

He's done a lot better than Kimbo and got the title in his 4th fight. I'd say that's pretty impressive.

Now the only person that I know right now who can knock out Lestner is FEDOR

I don't know that he could. He probably has the best chance to out of the current crop of top heavyweights...but I'm not betting against Lesnar no matter who he fights. So damn big, so damn strong, so damn fast for a man that size, and is a cardio machine to boot. Dude is a freak.
 
couture was rusty.....did not move as well as he did against silvia. "BUT", he still put up a good fight and would probably lose no matter what. Lesnar striking is too damn good now. I have to admit I did not expect Lesnar to ever become that good with his hands. He used to punch like a complete goof........now.........well.


And who even knows what kind of shape Fedor is going to be in since he hasn't fought anything top flight in what.....3 years?? But Fedor at top form could "easily" knock Lesnar out with one punch. He's looped guys bigger than Brock with that left hook. I honestly now think though that Lesnar is the only one who has a shot at knocking Fedor out.
 
Randy needs to retire and stay retired... just my opinion, so much more better younger stronger athletes out there... his time has long time been over
