Cork Flooring

Was just at my favorite tile store, and was accosted by Bobby Van Pushysalesprick. He was pushing some seriously cool new cork flooring 'tiles' that were on display and looking quite cool. Some cheesy and cheap, but others quite interesting.

Anywoozle, I need to redo the floor in our kitchen before we sell the place (moving to a townhouse YIPPEEE!) and will be forced by SWMBO to redo the new kitchen for certain: any experience with this stuff? Pros, cons?

soft, gets dirty if you dont seal it right, rots in joints if you stuff up the job

comfy stuff and looks great if it is polished well and in good light, but in the dark it looks grotty and yuk

imo the decision rests on the particulars of your home, layout, cupboards, fixings etc etc

before i got into pharmacy i was skulldragged to work in the building trade by my old man, so yer, i prefer tiles. indistructible, and cheap

cheerios

This stuff has some uber-fragelistic poly coating that is guarenteed for 5 years... not long, I know, but better than not.

I love tiles, and use them where ever approp., but I also spend A LOT of time in the kitchen (my knees and back FREAK after 6 or 7 hours on hard tile) and the kids drop plates and glasses all the time and I was hoping the cork might just save the day on that once in a while.
