I did elementary and middle school in a very well funded and otherwise exceptional public school system in the monied Atlanta suburbs. I went private for high school.

If I had any chilrens, I'd go private for the whole thing in a heart beat.

sure, if you live in suburbia DC, then yeah a private school is better. But if you live out my way, arizona/utah the public schools are decent with not much safety issue ever (arizona has a lot more drugs in school than utah), extremely high rate of graduating students that go on to college and good neighborhoods/kids/families.
