I decided I don’t want to find out if these guys are bluffing, so after my gf returned from putting more money in the car, we eat our meal, chill for a few minutes, then leave -- the city.


Id like to be that guy that fucking teaches those showboating, dumb ass thugs a lesson. And I felt really powerless and frustrated when I left. But what kind of chance am I taking, with my own life, if I had decided to stay and let these guys find me?

What would I have done? If I had half a brain, exactly what you did. How should you have handled the situation? Exactly as you did bro!

Yes, I understand how it hurts your pride. All of us would like to take such people out, one by one, and teach them some respect.

You right about the right to bear arms being a fantastic right. I believe it to be an intrinsic human right. But I must tell you, even if I was packing, I'd have left just as you did. Armed or not, only an idiot would seek such confrontation.

I must add, however, that if our (American's) right to bear arms was not infringed upon as it is now, if we were allowed to carry, had not been denied the right for so long, and all made a practice of such, we would not have bands of thugs behaving in the manner such as you described.

Grappling is great for UFC fights. In a street fight with 5 guys... 4 of them are not going to politely wait to the side while you wrestle their friend into submission. They are going to kick you in the head again and again while you roll around on the ground trying to get a choke or mount going.

yeah, you're right, I've been kick in the face while on the ground whith one of his buddies, I still got a big piece of scar tissue on my bottom lip (lump). I'd realy like to have it removed, its noticeable. any way I got the best out of the first 2 of them out 7 lol

The best man at my wedding dropped 5 guys in a bar fight. He studied boxing originally... added kick boxing and BJJ later. One of the 5 guys he fought that night was a black belt in karate... one of the rare times you go up against a trained fighter.

Buddy28, SofaGeorge gave a good suggestion, but I have one that I think is better. Since you are in Canada I dont think you can find this, but if you can study the art of Krav Maga. It is the Israeli's army form of martial arts, which is basically a refined and deadly form of street fighting.
I studied with while in Israel for a year and it has saved my behind more times than I can count.

krav maga from whatg ive read is taking oriental martial principles and applies them to a modern combat situation, they work with knife and gun scenario;s, you dont get that so much with other combat styles

boxing wont teach you blocks or locking, or anything with your legs aopart from dodging and stuff, it will teach you how touse ur punches well and to hit hard

JJ will teach you some strikes, locks, and groundwork. seems good.

i would assume krav maga would do the same....it all bottles down to how practical the class looks, instructor proficiency, how much actual sparring you do. krav maga is gonna be harder to find clubs wise and there are other arts which if taught well will encompass some of these things (JJ, some kung fu styles, kickboxing, kali (where you train with knives and sticks))

beware of clubs which seem commercial. i think there is a website devoted to them, www.mcdojo.com or something
